i KNEW that guy looked familiar

i nodded at this guy (the one on the left) walking up the steps at WP yesterday and was sure I'd seen him somewhere before but couldn't place him. he was just chilling there by himself so i didn't immediately think "rockstar". it registered today when i went to WP's cam page and found this picture.
that's one of the coolest things about skiing. what other sport is there where you can literally trip over the top pros?
    'sup Bode?

I think there's a race in Park City this weekend. Not sure, but I think so.

On topic, on my first run at Alta today, I stopped about 3/4 of the way down gunsight to catch my breath and wait for slip. Chris Davenport flys by and gives a "Hell Yeah!" shout. Skiing definitely has the coolest pro athletes.

Ahhhhh.... Bode Miller and Chris Davenport. Two of the dreamiest guys in skiing. (excepting all of y'all, of course)

Hehehe, as if every time something comes up about Charlotte Moats or Sarah Burke it doesn't turn into a big crushout fest.

Besides Crinkle, don't you think Chris is just a little hot??

Park City WC: 7 U.S. in GS, 6 in SL

PARK CITY, Utah (Nov. 20) - Giant slalom world champion Bode Miller (Bretton Woods, NH), the current World Cup points leader, and hometown favorite Erik Schlopy (Park City, UT) will lead seven U.S. men Saturday in giant slalom and six Sunday in slalom as the World Cup schedule moves into its continuous racing phase with the Chevy Truck America's Opening.

Promising teenager Ted Ligety (Park City, UT) makes his World Cup racing debut Saturday after earning the spot in a team time trial.

Miller, second overall and second in GS standings for the 2003 season, won this winter's first race Oct. 25 in Soelden, Austria, leading both runs for the seventh World Cup victory of his career as he became the first American to win a season opener. He also won the giant slalom and combined gold medals - plus silver in super G - at the '03 World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland.

Schlopy tore out of 23rd place after the first run at the championships and finished as bronze medalist, just one-hundredth of a second from the silver medal, only .04 behind Miller.

"The guys are skiing well and we're looking for strong results this weekend," said U.S. Men's Head Coach Phil McNichol. "We had outstanding training at Park City and they're fired-up about doing well in front of a big crowd."

Saturday's lineup for GS (7): Miller, Schlopy, Ligety, Daron Rahlves (Sugar Bowl, CA), Dane Spencer (Boise, ID), Thomas Vonn (Newburgh, NY) and Jesse Marshall (Pittsfield, VT).

U.S. starters Sunday in slalom (6): Miller, Schlopy, Marshall, Chip Knight (Stowe, VT), Tom Rothrock (Cashmere, WA) and Jake Zamansky (Aspen, CO).
