    PNW bc sunday

skinning up to schneedorf from white pass, looks like enough snow at the lower elevation for a skin track from the resort base. could be some freshies at 6000 to 7000 ft.

DR Smoov and I are thinking WA Pass tomorrow? Maybe Table instead...

What's the hike like from the base at WP up to 6000ft? I've wondered about Schneedorf since you started talking about it on the old board years back. How long is the drive from PDX?

Pete, it's an easy hike to 6000, just follow a cat track up the west side of the resort. should be enough snow after tonight for the skin track. Usually when the resort is closed like it is now i just go up and do laps at the top of the ski hill, but the bowl at the top of Schneedorf should be holding some good snow. Hiking from the base of the resort to the schnee is about 2 to 3 hours depending on which bowl you ski. From Portland probably I-5 to state route 12 is the fastest. Base elevation is 4500 feet. resort tops at 6000 and the dorf at 7000. Haven't been up since early Jan, but now a good cycle is here for some extended touring for a while. I was thinking of going to Hood tomorrow but winds are predicted so I'll stay here and hike sun and mon. givae me a buzz if you go.

Baker, road to table at the base of Martha's lader has a grand total of 3 inches on the hwy. Due to the lack of visibility and not exactly being driven to do the trek out to diamond trees we dropped in a ten minute trees and had a decent run skiing the fresh 6 inches of mud that fell today. Tomorrow should be better if the temps come down.

Lookin' at the storm pattern, I'm thinkin' Wednesday be the day for Baker. Leave the upper parking lot at 8.
