    Huntington Ravine

I searched and couldn't find anything, but maybe I'm just stupid.

Is Huntington Ravine worth skiing, or is it even skiable? If so, is it much the same as Tuckerman's but harder to access? Any data would be much appreciated.

Here's a pic, and it looks mighty good.

I've heard tell of people skiing it. That's about all I have, sorry.

Sure you can ski some of the gullies. South is frequently skiable at 35 - 40 degrees with nothing more than a small band (10 feet vertical ??) of 50 degree ice at the constriction at the bottom. Central is skiable if it is really full of snow, otherwise there is about 20 vertical feet of 60 degree ice in the middle.

I've ridden both of those on snowboard.

Escape Hatch is usually snow only and is lower angle (30-35 degrees ??). North Gully is also reported to be skiable, but it does have a steep ice bulge about half way up that would take a lot of snow to cover.

Thanks Scott. You are the mang.

In about two years, when I am out of HS, I will organize a maggot BC trip to Huntington, Tuckerman, and the Gulf. An EC/BC summit shall be had.

Sounds like lots of good skiing to be had when the snow is just right.

Pucker factor is mighty high, the way I like it!

Can we listen to AC/DC on the way to the EC/BC?

    Thumbs up

That pic looks like a good candidate for the tracks game.
