Details that I got were pretty minimal....I hear it was in a particularly cliffed out area in Fish Creek more to skiers left (far left, I wanna say cliffs of death area). The people who triggered it obviously did not know where they were going and this is definitely a known area to avoid, but my buddies guessed that what slid was maybe 40 meters across....if someone had been caught in it they would have been swept over a 70 footer....

I know the area you speak of, we skied there a while back. That's about that last spot I like to go for a ride in.....

Way to get after it today guys. I know you won't believe me, but keystone did not suck today. I would say 8 or so at northpeak summit, but certainly had some deeper areas.

Not going into the back country for a bit, especially after my little scare this week.

But I will be the basin tommorow with my little groms. You will know us when you see us, just say hi.

A Basin was really nice. They were bombing the east wall all afternoon.

trees off of sieberts split between me and my buddy all day - great lines in there - prolly 14 to 18 inches for fresh in there.

blurred and telechuck - sorry couldn't make it over the pass today. my buddy had to work in the village @ 3:00 so vail was the only option.

hitting it again tomorrow if anyone is around. probably some sidecountry ventures, depending on reports.

Woke up at 3am this morning, skinned for two hours up Vail Pass to the top of some nice cliff to sweet line for sunrise session. I make one turn to get into position and as I am about to drop in the whole slope comes down, the crown was 1-2ft deep, and the sucker was about 150 yards wide. THe slide moved so fast it was scary. Biggest avalanche I have seen this year. We said screw that, skied back down our low angle skin track, and got a 9am chair at Vail and skied a nice East Vail. BC=back country=be careful

it looks like GT, myself (first day back, full gape mode) and crinkle will be hitting Vail on Monday if anybody else interested. Gonz, I don't know if you'll still be around, but I'd love to meet-up.

HAH! Now that's a good lap. Recharge 15x one day and relax with cold beer at Utah Junction. Thanx, have fun at Jane. One of these days, I'm gonna have to make it back there to ski some trees and pow bumps

It looks like we'll be meeting at the park-n-ride at 7 so we should be there fairly early. I've got your number programmed and I think you've got mine. I'm sure we could be at Vista Bahn by opening. I'll be in a Navy puff, green pants and orange boots, silver full-face as well. I'll call when we get in line.

FYI, heads up for the p-n-r, the break in situation is getting redonculous up there. Daylight smash and grabs are par for the course. I suggest King Soops off I-70 on Youngfields. The guy with the gun at the down keeps the b and e down.

Skiing this weekend was most excellent. Yesterday was old school and the Jane complete with Pepporonis being open.

Correction. The boat is reporting another 15" up top this am with continued blizzard conditions. @ 40+" in the bc since Thur. Skier triggered slides are guaranteed today in steep, lee areas(particularly NE aspect). Yesterday one of my partners remotely triggered a 2-3' softslab that propagated about 400-500' up the ridge and left 10-15' debris piles on the bench about 400' below. Today's a good to shelve the b.c. and take care of other neglected responsibilties IMO.

Good to hear it is still going off in CO.

It was awesome meeting maggots on the slopes. Thursday was the Midwest crew at flail with Gonzo and INDY GS.

Friday’s pow at MJ was the best day of the trip.
    Thanks to;
    - Crinkle for keeping me in the loop
    - GT40 for skiing with me and the job tip in UT, also congrats on the new grandkid
    - The Dude for the ticket hookup
    - Yoss & Powwrangler for putting up with this gaper

    Definitely

I'm back to cube jockeying in flat paved hell for a week before heading to Tahoe. The skiing Buzz came crashing down last night when I dropped my sticks off for a quick shop tune. Two guys were trying on Bogner jackets, telling each other how good they looked and commenting on Deer Valley’s “Immaculate Grooming”. One of them sees me holding my skis while waiting for a tech, he walks over and asks if they were good bump skis. Luckily the tech showed up before I lost control and smacked him up side the head

Working from Loveland today, snuck in a couple runs this am, hope to get more later.

    One word: disgusting.

A foot of fresh everywhere, with drifts to the knees, and pockets up to the balls.

    Still nuking outside. Nonstop.

    Chair 9 not open.
