    Dumpage in CO

It absolutely friggen nuked on WP/MJ last night, and it kept on nuking all day long today. BP barely got skied, should be some epic tree skiing there this weekend. I'd be very, very wary of anything at all open though, saw some sluffing and one small release already. Shit is quite loaded from the high winds. But the trees...oh, the trees...

Quite possibly. Prolly won't pull the trigger till tomorrow am, but I'm definitely considering a day of sidecountry pow pow tree skiing.

Just FYI, don't plan to hitch at all tomorrow, the pullouts are not plowed. It'll be car shuttles or skins, I think, or very long waits for pickups.

Wish I'd have known you'se clowns were there. I was hanging with the brother-in-law anyhow. Great day. The snow seemed endless.

edit: I heard Baldy's and a few other chutes were open. Did you guys hit any of them? Still pretty thin?

yes...every bit of 10 inches in spots...drifts obviously deeper

but it totally varied...was on 11 the whole time, but did one lap under 4 and there was half the snow....

jibij, yeah man, sorry. I took one lap in the chutes, still no good. Thin cover, scrapey, not worth it.

Foggs, yes, count me as very strong probable. Too bad I'll be on my pee-wee skis, but whatev. BTW, looks like someone ski cut or got a very small soft slab (new snow on old surface) to pull out at the rollover to North Chute (I think, might have been one more over towards the trees). But 80s 90s looked ultra nice, and Choke/Knuckle/etc are actually filled in, so HHA trees are prolly in great shape.

Squirr, Brakeman = check, but we didn't get into the Mushrooms. Next time.

Brett, you use up all the snow at Breck, or would it be worth considering if I end up entertaining a non-touring pal? I personally don't mind the hike up 8 and to the Lake Chutes, so as long as I could do that all day, I'd be happy... Info appreciated...

    NIIIIICCCEEEE!

Mushrooms and Rock Garden oh so fun, albeit too short sometimes. Forgot what those trees are called between Frenchie and Outhouse, oh then there's Hole-in-The-Wall, phantom bridge, r-bender, sterling, spike, cannonball, hauler, coupler - damn, it's been a long time since I've been back to the Jane. So many fun days spent riding up C-lift with big fluffy flakes dumping from the sky. good times, good times.

    morning sweetness

Missed the mags but had fun in the pow, first tracks on Pine Cliffs was soooooooo nice, IMHO really only "steep" face at MJ. Second run on the chutes, dropped down to last one still untracked and just floated over the ice and rocks you could kinda just feel, could see rocks already showing where other lines had been slipped. Then the trees til one and back to work....

yeah-ayeeeeaaahey. Today was a good day. Utards, GT40 was here to reap the pow for you guys. My first day ever at MJ, great tours to nice stashes by Yoss and The Dude.

Borrowed a pair of Bros for the day and it was not a mistake, damn I really like those skis, especially for light fluffy pow......wait, i like light fluffy pow anyway. Lots of fun, but not in the deep troughs of bumps. Got lots of looks and a few questions. Better yet it found us another maggot, Pow-wrangler approached and asked about the Bros, I asked if he was familiar and out it came "are you on TGR" Bingo, another ripper in tow for pow pow show. Good times, an appearance was also made by chicago's own Thisendup, who lived up to his name and scored the best turns of his trip.

tons of fun in the trees, following the sounds of "whoot, whoot"

    Checking in from Loveland.

Was definitely sweet today. That place is so empty on weekdays it kills me. A bit windy off the ridge lift, but made for some good blown-in skiing. Chair 8 was also sweet.

Even my last 3 runs off chair 1 toward the end of the day still had sections of untracked in the trees. Snowed off and on all day.

    ...tomorrow shall not suck.

Steamboat definitely was not too bad today....probably picked up 8 inches, maybe a bit more. Some of my buddies I guess saw a decent size slide out of bounds today, though.....
