    Tahoe help!

Anybody know if the Green Lantern Motel is a dirtbag place? Any suggestions of other good places to stay in South Lake Tahoe? Mr Nohills and I are heading out that way at the end of April to celebrate our anniversary with some skiing and gambling, so some info would be appreciated.

    Thanks!

I've stayed at the Green Lantern plenty of times. It's pretty minimal. Lousy pillows, thin blankets, and even thinner walls. That said it's cheap and clean. So it's going to come down to what your standards are. I'm of the variety that finishes skiing, gets vomiting drunk at the casino, and then passes out fully clothed at the nearby motel. So... the Green Lantern works nicely for me.

A nearly as cheap but somewhat nicer motel is the Cedar Lodge. Mrs. Slim prefers to spend her nights there.

If you really want to do it right for the anniversary... then I reccomend the Fantasy Inn. The Arabian Nights room is my personal favorite.

    End of April.....

Check on when ski areas close. Alpine (and maybe Squaw) will probably still be turning lifts, but the south shore resorts will probably not be operating for skiing (maybe KW will on weekends again).

This assuming that you're looking for resort skiing not bc....

Heavenly and Kirkwood are claiming to be open until May on their websites. We want resort skiing, we'd be BC jongs.

That sounds good to me. I like clean, doesn't have to be fancy. I'm looking at a Travelocity package and the Cedar Lodge and Fantasy Inn weren't on the list, IIRC.

Midweek (Sunday - Thursday night) there are about a billion beds free everywhere in South Lake. They start at about $25-29 and go up from there. You should have no trouble finding a place by driving around and looking for signs.

Spats is right. Hell, for that matter, rooms midweek at Harvey's are only $49 a night. Buy a 3 or 4 room night package & (Heavenly) lift tix are probably included..

Too bad - I already deleted my Player's Club email for the month...They're always sending me codes, etc...

Unless you plan to ski exclusively at the Heave or want to do some heavy gambling, the motel 6 is a good choice. It gives you better room than most of the ones near the casinos and the walls aren't so thin that you can hear the guy in the next room ripping one.

It's not on the strip though. It's about 10 minutes towards kirkwood.

oh.... and they will leave the light on for you......

A pizza from Bobdog's, beers and tacos at steamers.

Ask Roo about the "Big William"
I've concluded that DJSapp was never DJSapp, and Not DJSapp is also not DJSapp, so that means he's telling the truth now and he was lying before.

Hmm, hadn't thought of that. How far is Mammoth from SLT?

Isn't it nice of them to chop off the hooves before they stuff the rest of the cow between those two loaves of bread.
