Get the Orvis Guide sling. It rocks.

I have it. Hence the sale.

While the Orivis pack isn't perfect I do like the ability to cram more crap in it.

Fishpond sling > all else. Actually I like the way the Patagonia wears the best, the fishpond just holds more and is H20proof. I sold like 50 of these Atoms the month they came out. Super nice packs.

Respectfully disagree. Tried the fishpond one, hated it. Not enough compartments for me to be an organization whore with, and it fit me really funny. Did like that it was water proof, but I'm rarely carrying things in my pack that are damaged by water. Loving the Orvis pack. My biggest gripe about it is that the d-ring is in a pretty awkward spot that forces your net to dangle off your shoulder instead of neatly over top of the pack, but it really doesn't bother me that much.

I put a carabiner on the shoulder strap and then I attach my net to that. It seems to work pretty well. Most of the time it's at the bottom of the strap down by my left hip. When I rotate the pack the net kind of rotates on the strap with it. Seems to work out really well.

I like the tippet holder on the orvis pack but that seems like a really horrible spot for me. I have a hard time accessing it without halfway taking the pack off.

I think the ultimate sling pack has yet to be made. I fashioned one out of a travelers sling i like better than the Orvis one because instead of one big pack you put stuff in a series if pockets that extend all the way around, plus Velcro stuff to the front for easy reach like a cork pad or small flybox. Maybe I'll produce it someday.

What packs have you guys macguyver'd?
