Sloppy 5ths and 6ths today at Silver (aka Jackass) with 2F. Snow started to get scraped down to the boilerplate by noon in the usual choke points.

We were pleasantly surprised off Wardner, top of shady lady, NFG, and TE trees.

Seems 2funky has unlocked the powers of his bionic leg.

    What a photo slut!

Chop was soft and the sun was shining. No complaints at Schweitzer

Yeah boiii. Good stuff today! Far exceeded expectations. Tons of nice buttery turns to be had. A guy can still feel the rain crust under there tho. Also lots of snakes and sharks so tread lightly peeps. We need another 2-3’ before its wide open game time.

Next summer Jackass N is going to have some “major construction” going on. Take that how you will.

Damn, that’s taking funds away from Silver. I’ll keep hoping for a lift overhaul..

I've heard it's a detachable quad replacing chair 1, plus some new maintenance buildings, but ribby knows more than I.

Interesting. Didn’t realize Jnorth made that much revenue to facilitate that kind of infrastructure upgrade over Silver.
Not that I want a detach at Silver, a couple new fixie triples would be nice.

a long-time local told me so I'm taking him at his word.

the lift system is pretty ancient so seems justified in my view. that, and the near disaster on chair 1 a few weeks ago. can't have too many of those.

why do you think it's either/or?

Nice! You probably skied over some of my tracks from yesterday. [emoji12] I figured those areas would still be holding some good stashes as they were still skiing really good at the end of the day yesterday. Glad you guys got some!

    And the bike park [emoji22]

Our claptrap of a mountain house has been in major disrepair for years. I hope Mr. Fortune keeps pushing things along at both mountains and stops buying so many damn houses.

rumors of a chair 1 upgrade have been circulating for years....

49N makes a profit (this season might be different)
money spent upgrading infrastructure is not necessarily taken away from Silver.
the real tap on the bank account would be the planned joint venture with the Spokane Tribe
to build a waterpark, convention center and casino upgrade outside Chewelah
that rumor is fairly new ....

This is interesting. We were pushing the Tribe to do this several years ago in lieu of the Airway Heights location. I talked to John Eminger about it and he was all about it. The Tribe didn't want to do it because they felt it was too far from a population base (Spokane) but they had everything they needed to do it there, including Tribal Trust land where the current Chewelah Casino is. Tried to point out to them that major growth out of Spokane is going north, it's not far plus they pick up the Canadian crowd. Lots of opportunity to expand the ski hill along with the Tribe's interests. I guess we were just too soon to push this idea but they eventually appear to be coming around.

What ski shops do you guys recommend for boots? Looking at Lupo/Cochise 130/Roxa R3/Hawx Ultra XTD 130/Nodica Strider/other boots along this line. I've had a friend recommend Sports Creel. Ideally in Spokane/Spokane Valley

I grew up in Cd'A and have always loved the people at the Ski Shack in Hayden. Might be too far away tho.

More “evidence” at the top. Just east of the cell towers at the true summit.

interesting the contractors or lift maintenance needed to mark the location of a
new tower and bullwheel mid-season ....

the sooner they build a new summit chair the better!
but honestly, i think somebody is fucking with somebody,
keep up the good work boys!
