Question blizzard of ahhs on DVD

i swear to god i just searched for 30+ minutes. the powmag search brought up a bunch of threads that led nowhere, thread no longer exists...what's the deal with that anyway? how can it bring up a thread in a search that no longer exists?

anyways, does it exist on dvd? where do you go for Stump flicks?

    thanks

I'm waiting for the DVD version. A Stump interview last year mentioned that he was working on a DVD release. Maybe there's a Stump box set in the works.

http://www.justpushplay.com/ has all the sports videos.

Surely there must be someone out there with both a videoplayer and a dvd-writer?

Or do you want the real deal, with enhanced digitized sound and stuff..

    Paging Kevin Dineen...

I think he posted word that Stump is working on a box set.

Worth the wait vs. a burned DVD IMHO.

    Heads up on justpushplay,

I complained three times and they finally delivered my best of Matchstick box set after two and a half months, and they overcharged me by $20 on shipping. They were fine with refunding the difference, but it's a little aggravating after waiting so long.

As soon as it's out on DVD, I'm sure we'll hear about it.

Sadly it doens't work that way. The resolution of VHS is much lower than DVD (220 lines vs. 450 lines). So you have to go back to film stock but that fades over time (that's why old movies look blue) so you have to digitize the movie and fix the colour balance.

    I think it's worth it.

I was talking about this with schmidt last year and he was blown away. Somebody brought up how much Blizzard's VHS was pulling down on Ebay and he flipped. "Stumpy and I've got a warehouse full of these copies."

    heh.

Because nobody wants to listen to 90 minutes of "Check me out! I'm going to rip the shit out of this!" That's why there's no commentary on Maggotwood.

Indeed an early season edition of Powder did indeed include a quote from Mr. Stump that said there would be DVD's and CD's out by Christmas. I'm sure he said that during the summer or before. It never happened. This has gone on many times in the past. The music and of DVD releases were promised, and never materialized. Believe me, I'll be first in line to by anything he releases in a digital format....
