    And yeah, cultural appropriation is pretty common in cuisine. Besides the nightshades in Eurasian cooking, pasta came from China, French cuisine grew out of Italian, & Spanish was heavily influenced by N African ingredients.

    Also, is it true that Canadian Thanksgiving comes earlier than ours because you have so much more to be thankful for?

    Wife just took half our leftovers to a friends house tonight to share, and I'm selfishly really annoyed at the delicious meal loss.

    I suspect just basic practicality. Nov has Remembrance Day, and Oct didn’t have a stat holiday. Need to space out those long weekends for the working class. For that we are thankful I suppose.

    More federal holidays that give us long weekends are a good thing.
