Level 1 for the Reno Crowd

We trying to put together a Level 1 avalanche class for Reno folks. If you’re interested, become a member and follow this link and RSVP “yes”. We’re looking at the cost being about $190 per person at this time.

Who is the instructor? What curriculum will be taught in the class? Will the class meet AAA Level 1 requirements? Where will the class be taught?

Hello Mike! I did Level 1 at Slide Snow School a couple of seasons ago. How are you guys?

Good questions. Keith Gale is an instructor with the National Ski Patrol and he offered to put together a course for our group. From what I found on the NSP site, their Level 1 does meet the AAA requirements. This class will be a 28 hour class with 2/3 of it being taught in the field. Keith is currently working on the logistics of the course.

I hope things are going well up at Mount Rose.
