    Atomic Automatic size question

I hate to toss up another which ski size thread but this is a sizing issue on the Atomic Automatic.

I've read the threads and blister....skied the Automatic 186 but on a EC spring day. I truly enjoyed this ski as it was more than my S7....which I also love in the trees but I want a bit more once on trail or open terrain. I was set to pick up the Auto 186 but the traffic on the 193 seems to have increased and I am now wondering at my weight and height (5'10" 175lbs) if Im doing myself disservice by not going up in length. I am an EC skier who takes 1-2 trips west per year. The Auto will be an EC quiver ski for the days i can use it, most know how fast a powder day on the EC can be tracked out then its time to stay in the trees which is why I want to retain the quickness but I'm fearful that I may want a bit more if its worth it.

Anyone who is on the 186 in my size class regret not going longer or vise versa? Would mounting +2 on a 193 close the gap between the two? One reviewer wrote that he didn't find the 193 provided that much over the 186. I'm not going up and length to be a size queen (ok, kinda).

Any more input between the 2 would be helpful.

    Thanks

I'm 5'11, 200lbs, Mid 30s, 75+ days a year, Whistler for 12 years, like to get after it.
Previous skis 193 Bent Chetlers, 192 Rocker2s, 193 EHPs, and have shop demoed everything else in the category.
As for the Automatics I have skied the 193 at 0 and +2 and the 186 at 0 and +2.
I bought the 186 and have them mounted at +1.
The 193 is not necessary. I know for a fact that Dana and Sage have only skied the 193 a few times when it was first in production and now only ride the 186.

I have almost identical stats to you (height and weight), and ski the 186cm Automatics at +1.5cm. I am really happy with how they ski, and the binding position. I have not tried the 193cm, so I cannot comment on that length. I have never felt that the 186 was not enough, in any condition. At speed, on steeps, the ski is great. The Automatic has some good stiffness to the ski, so I don't think that you would need a 193, in my opinion.

Quick question, did you compare them to the 2014 S7, or the previous generation? If it was the new generation S7, I'd be curious to hear your observations of the comparison.
