Nikon 70-200 f4 thoughts?

I searched and found an old thread about the release of the nikon 70-200 f4, but haven't seen any comments on anyone using one yet. Would love to get the maggot opinion. I am buying a used one with a nikon 1.4 teleconverter for 675- this is the best price I've seen so if it doesn't work out, I can always sell it.

I am an amateur photographer with a cropped sensor d 5100 and shoot mostly landscape and portraits. Looking to shoot more skiing this winter. I like the idea of the lower weight versus the 2.8.

I am also a Nikon Fan. I do have Nikon D5100 and I really like the pictures and videos that it captures. Anyway, I guess, any Nikon Brand is worth a try. For me, that brand is known also for reliability and amazing shots!
