3,200’ vertical and a couple of hours later we found ourselves on HWY 40 near the town of Empire.
Did you stop off at the Dairy King? (I think that's still there).
They used to have killer patty melts. And then those milkshakes at Lewis Sweet Shop across the street.

But I bet that cop still sits in Empire at the 20mph speed limit sign, too.

    Nice pics, BTW.

My favorite is, "Heading towards the drainage:"
Love the framing and the time of day. The huge expanse of the untracked whiteness from the bottom to the top of the frame give it a surreal scale. That line of trees heading into the drainage and the skier bring it back into scale. Nicely done.
when not on the snow what else do i do...

After cutting some cornices and poking around the top of a chute, we decided it wasn’t safe enough and headed for the safer lines over to the right.
Great decision... That can be one of the hardest things to do. I had to turn away 90 ft. from a summit because of the snow. It will still be there tomorrow.

Your TR was inspiring as usual!

Nice, Dave!!! What a wonderful day. The bushwack wasn't that bad.

    ISki, SheRa,

Bump for being rockstars and also to ask what the exit was like... You didn't ski all the way down to HWY 40 did you? There couldn't have been snow all the way down?...

Did you come down one of those creeks? You mentioned Blue Creek - is that where you exited?

Is that what the "bushwhack" was about? Because since i always end up biting off more than I can chew, I contstantly end up in the middle of bushwhacks from hell!
