At the northern resort, snow was moving in the sun. This slab was skier triggered on a slope that had been receiving sun all morning and broke about 1ft deep X 40ft wide, and entrained a lot of snow as it moved.

Norseman, how far did you have to hike before skinning?

Maybe a mile or so. I was quite surprised at the lack of snow down low.

Sounds like any St. Helens trip should happen sooner than later.

Shit. In late March I'm hoping the answer is "edge of the parking lot."

I'll add a few pics to the mix. Just like everyone else, this was a good weekend to be in the mountains:

I assume the road to Climbers Bivouac/Monitor Ridge will be open by then? But hay, I'm really just guessing at this point.

Not all missed out. Some rolled the dice and almost got their bacon handed to them. I wanted to stay an extra day, but I also wanted to keep my job.

Any Bham/Whatcom Co. want a free truckload of split wet maple and oak? Landlords removed a few trees and we're trying to clear out the wood before the summer.

Beauty photos guys. Thx for sharing the stoke.

BC- If no one claims the wood near you, I'd take it. Caveat being that it may be a bit more of a logistical issue as I'm coming from Snoq. No worries either way.

It has been really nice conditions for the past few days. My highlight was skiing 3200 vertical feet in 3 minutes 20 seconds on Mt. Shuksan. If you enjoy cracking out on other people's skiing check this out.

I assume you didn't do it in the middle of the night. All I see is a big black square that doesn't do anything.
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!

Oh well, I don't know how to use a computer very well. Once it is hosted on vimeo how do I get it here? I don't see where I copy its location from vimeo. Anyone care to help a luddite.

Maybe this worked. I assure you I ski better than I compute.
