The trumpet scatters its awful sound Over the graves of all lands Summoning all before the throne
Death and mankind shall be stunned When Nature arises To give account before the Judge
Brit hatin' on military industrial complex propaganda/U.S. equivalent of missiles parading in Red Square
What next, Freedom Hater?
Politicalasshatery JONG! So, how about making more howitzer rounds for our avalanche controllers, that's a proper use of military dollars. Cheaper than flying a choppa up to Stevens to kick bang sticks out the door.

Blue Angels doing bombing runs for avy control? Every avy route in the Cascades could be covered in half an hour. Everybody wins!
That said, those F-18 Growlers from Whidbey that scream up Hwy 2 are awesome. Standing on Chief Mtn looking DOWN on a jet is nuts.
Dear Lord
Anyone hear how big the crown was?

Coffee usually does the trick for loosening me up in the morning. 50lbs of explosives seems to be the equivalent for Old Man Winter:
Paid Ms. Susan Jane a visit today for some well-earned turns. That hanging snowfield slid so big it cracked the ice on the lake.
Conditions were variable, with everything from crust in the open areas to rock-hard treebombs in the woods. Found some good snow into the lake basin and some more in the vicinity of Fleur de Lis. Weather degraded throughout the day, temps plunged from roughly 28F at 9am to 15F at 4pm and it snowed all day, lightly in the morning but by 2pm it was coming down hard. Should be some great, continental-like snow for the next few days, watch out for anything exposed at- or above-treeline if you feel the need to leave the resort at all.
Just as I was getting frustrated with how slow everyone was going down the western side of the pass on the drive home, I saw an Outback coming the other way lose control crossing the first bridge east of Skykomish. It slide sideways past me then due to overcorrecting, did a 360 across the road into westbound traffic and got leveled by a flatbed semi hauling a 'dozer. Hope everyone's okay, it didn't look good in the rearview but traffic was flowing again when I got back onto the road in Gold Bar after having stopped to calm my nerves.
Christ, hwy 2 is a mess. Hope everyone is ok.

it was fucking stellar until ~1:30PM when the rain paid a visit. as good as it gets for me, with no lines to be found.
to the bellingham buddies of the great beardedclam - thanks for the brewpops! it was good while it lasted.
How much rain came in? Was hoping for a powder Tuesday at Alpental tomorrow, but just hoping the rain wasn't enough to kill it.
Ugh, could not get out of work today to enjoy the morning glory. I was REALLY hoping things would stay cold, but from the sounds of some freinds up at Stevens today it was 39 and pissing rain at 130. I'll be mashing lumpy wet taters tomorrow. Remember the garbage bags for the rain!
Stevens was DEEP today. Best turns of the year down Yodelin. Around 1230 it really started to get heavy. By 130, as stated, it started to rain. Gonna bet on a huge natural cycle over the next couple days...
lots down low. was falling frozen up top but the potatoes were about as mashed as it gets. unexpected survival skiing for sure.
