Would you want a health monitor while skiing?

    Hi,

I'm taking an engineering design class and my group has the idea for a device that would fit in a backpack (smaller than a laptop, roughly the same shape) and monitor vitals while skiing. It would have a readout that would attach to the backpack strap and be visible while skiing (or hiking, biking, etc.). It would require an under armour type base layer that would house the sensors. Vitals would include but are not limited to heart rate, body temp, respiratory rate, etc.

Would any of you be interested in this and for roughly what cost?

This is for product bench marking. We don't plan on actually manufacturing this for sale.

P.S. If you want a Killington College pass at a $30 discount, email me: Liberj3@rpi.edu

Impracticable unless it was a phone app.

    Ok, thanks for the replies.

We are looking into phone support. and also GPS connectivity. The possibility of contacting emergency services if the heart rate/ body temp go into dangerous levels and the user does not "cancel" a warning message.

What about price range you would pay?

Jesus, that sounds retarded. I go skiing/hiking/biking to get away from shit like that.
