Stayalert and I put them inside down by the ticket windows.

You must have showed up just after I left, as that was the last thing we did.

failed to stop while I was waiting for someone to turn left into the Aubuchon Hardware outside of Manchester. I had that horrible experience of watching it in my rearview mirror for a couple of seconds as it didn't even slow down before slamming into me. The kid driving it said his brakes weren't very good (doh!). Cop didn't cite him for anything; apparently it's okay in VT to drive around in a 3.5 ton monster truck without a bumper. And it apparently isn't any big deal to be driving around with absolutely no ID, no registration, no insurance card. Fortunately I wasn't hurt and my car's frame wasn't bent. Walked across the street to the hardware store, bought a bungie cord, secured the trunk and made it home okay. Insurance adjuster will be coming out some time tomorrow, but I have the feeling that this incident is going to end up costing me some $$$ I don't really have before it's through.

^^ Bummer. Just glad nobody was hurt. Shouldn't cost you any gelt if a cop was on the scene and filed a report. Try to get the police report number, if you haven't already. It was clearly not your fault (hit in the ass never is) but the report may smooth the process.

^^^my neighbor came by to press cider this afternoon after apparently passing your wreck and told me about some redneck local that slammed into an out of stater. I'm totally bummed to hear it was you GA.

    Ullrfest did not disappoint.

CaptainAwesome = awesome for bringing 5 kegs!
My Pet Power Goat = actually smells a bit like goat
    Neufox = guaranteed piggy goodness
GetAmped = amped up the party with 300,000 songs
DoWork = DidWork and pulled it all together

It was great meeting everyone else as well. I tried all five beers and did a jager-luge. What else could one hope for?

Good times last night and this morning with many EC Mags! Props to DoWork and crew for pulling off a great Ullrfest at Magic. It was perfect weather, amazing food and a solid core crew who pooled talents and resources to make it such a success.

The party got off on a great start, relocating on the ski slope in front of the bar. (Jim Sullivan was stoked to see the TGR gang and said he'd love to host this event on a regular basis.)

Some of the usual suspects, Fenris, MyPetPowderGoat, Neufox, and Arewolf:

Stayalert and Neufox enjoying Capt. Awesome's homebrew selection of five amazing beers!:

DoWork and Neufox carving up the pig... cooked and supplied by another great mag, Peruvian:

The chef should always sample their food first!:

MPPG pouring in a little magic to his awesome cider blend:

JGB@etree and GetAmped sharing fish stories by the campfire:

It was great meeting many new mags... props to GetAmped for the great tunes, Peruvian for roasting the pig, MNISAW for the tents and Capt. Awesome for the amazing bacon and beer, and to everyone chipped in to pull off a great event.

Awesome meeting so many EC mags for the first time, and reconnecting with others.

Who was there in a VT Subee with the 10th Mountain Division sticker in the window?

    That was a blast!

The chili was ridiculous -even more so when amped up a bit with that Jolokia sauce. Actually, all the food was good.

Fortunately, the ice luge was a bit less deadly than last year, and relatively free of insect larvae, but it took a little while to get the right-sized pour dialed in. I think I almost saw someone drown on one of those "shots".

There was some good local lore being passed of as fact, too. Can we get confirmation of which porno flick was allegedly shot at the lodge? Or find out about Steven Tyler playing a show there back before he was in Aerosmith?

It was cool to see everyone. I definitely have to get up to Magic this winter at some point, and when I do, I'll keep an eye out.

Thanks to all for the epic grub and drinks, good tunes, and fire making. I'm still in a post-coital stupor from the bacon-induced taste bud orgasms Sunday morning.

After people started hitting the road on Sunday I hiked up Magic to scope out the new tree shot that DoWork and Co. have been working on. Fucking spectacular stuff! Easily the longest tree run on the hill, pushing 1,000 feet of vert. It's a mix of quintessential VT hardwood sections and steep Hemlock zones. Gotta hand it to those guys for crafting a work of art in there. Ordered my pass today... Looking forward to adding some Magic storm skiing days to the books this winter.

I can handle the pig, but trying to make sure Captain Awesome didn't have to lug home partially full kegs did me in.

^ Ha ha... what self respecting maggot could leave such great beer alone or go to possible waste?!

FTR, ISBD came through and made his semi-annual sacrifice to Ullr. It sounds like GetAmped did the same (but with his car), so we owe these two a special thank you when the 20 or more storms dump feet of goodness on our favorite runs this season...

DoWork and crew... those glades look almost as tasty as that pig. Can't wait to see them this winter. Nice work!

Ice luge qoute of the night:

    "Are you alright?!?"

    Dowork: "NO!!" {staggers off to never be seen or heard from again.}

I haven't laughed that hard since ISBD put the "Yak" in Yakima.

...and who can forget the new addition to TGR's vernacular: "Ice pussy"

Thanks so much to everyone that made it possible, i'm stoked Magic invited us back.... (heh, little did they know it was a down year for attendance and drunken debauchery.)

Congrats to Pearljam, and we missed all the mags that couldn't make it for one reason or another.

Sorry to hear about your ride, Jim. Make sure to police report mentions that the kid said his brakes are bad.

I saw the first pitch, then woke up and it was like the 4th inning.

Is the deadline for the Magic pass tonight or tomorrow night?
