By the way, I'm driving up from VA on Saturday morning, and back to VA Sunday.

I plan to head up through Scranton, then 84 to 87, etc. If you're along the way and need a lift, let me know.

You think that's a better route than NJ Turnpike to 87? The one time I went through Scranton it seemed to take FOREVER! Maybe I was just unlucky.
It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.

I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

Yeah, it costs a fortune to get up to CT that way. Between the tolls in MD, DE, and NJ, and the traffic in NY (plus tolls), I think I spent over $20 each way. Besides, I live far enough west (Leesburg that 15's right there, and it gets me to Harrisburg pretty quick. It's also a more relaxing drive, as long as the construction's not too bad.

I just prepped it last night. I'll smoke it next Friday. Looking at probably 8 lbs or so.

Is NumbrdDays not making the trip? Will I be the lone bacon supplier?

    Edit: missed this:

I hear NumbrdDays is unable to bring bacon, but will hopefully be there?

CA, you may be the sole Bacon supplier, but 8 lbs is awesome, Captain!

I will be up there for a few days prior to the fest so I may be able to procure some local bacon too... Will see what I can get like 5lbs-10lbs for and see what my pocket can handle. As it is I will be storing the ice luge for several days in the walk-in freezer so bacon is easy

Pig for me and a +1.

We'll be bringing several gallons of chili, generally on the mild side, plus assorted hot sauces.

    ^Mmmmm, sounds good, G.

So, I seem to be subconsciously training for next weekend... Today's menu: Bacon for breakfast, ham for lunch and pork chops for dinner. Coincidence???!

I'm headin gup Thursday night actually. Got a few arborists coming up to help with the chainsaw work Friday so it'll be all ready for the bigger groups on Saturday. If anybody will be around Friday night let me know, maybe we will do a little preemptive BBQ strike of some kind.

dumping buckets earlier down here in pa.. will be more tonight with high winds.. temps drops like 12 degrees between 3 and 5.....

BD.. nothing like the wind one year at your place .. sounded like a train coming up the valley and then BLUEBIRD snoring to the high heavens....ugh.....but as always a great time in the rain......

Imagine if it was all snow....soon enough

Ok just want to do a final checklist here since we're so close.

Tents? Someone had two big ones- they coming?

Tables & chairs? BD was that you?

I can bring a grill and some gas if we need it.

I can also bring some super sharp knives for carving pig, which I haven't done in a while but would be happy to handle. BD did we have a table for that already? Sorry just trying to finalize this all in my head last minute. I'll be bringing my usual ice luge and I should have a baller stand this year too. Stoked to get out there!!
