Was a beautiful day for a ride. Radam hooked me up with a single speed XC bike so I can bomb around on the trails in Central Park in Schdy. Not bad for being in a relatively urban environment.

singlespeeds rool. just pedal. sit, stand, run. no noise, no clutter. quiet power. total efficiency. forecast for the next week looks like bliss. near 70 with sun every day. mosquitos are back out with a vengeance tho. couldn't even chill in the lot after last nights ride. deet 100% for the sunday ride fer sure.

hopefully the weather holds for the big party! or it dumps big fat flakes.

my lady scheduled a house warming party (for our new house) for the 12th, so i'm out.

    No reggae!
I'm a big Bela fan. Got a lot of his work with the Flecktones, Edgar Meyer, solo stuff and an awesome collaboration with Chick Corea called "The Enchantment". " Across The Imaginary Divide," his collaboration with the Marcus Roberts Trio, is on my to-get list.

I will be there and happy to help chop, dice and slice trees or pig. Not sure about handing out the "prizes" though.... isn't that reserved for Vanna White?

I have a feeling this is going to be like a giant tailgating party getting ready for the big season ahead. Should be a blast, but whatever we do, do not let VT-F be in charge of the music! (No regge or Dead?!... How did he get into Vermont?)

Hey folks. I believe that DoWork is collecting $$ for the pig, so get in touch with him if you are going to chip in. I need to know by Monday or Tuesday how much we have to determine what size pig to order.

VT-F, are you planning on coming up for the bela show? I haven't pulled the trigger on a tik yet but I'm def. leaning towards doing so. Abi used to live here and dated a friend in a local bg band that toured nationally before she "hit it big" after moving to Nashville, it would be cool to see her play again.

Was debating a trip down for the fest but that thought went out the window Tues. night when I got clipped playing bball and shredded my mcl. Damage to the acl looks minimal (mri in a few weeks) at this point so my season is hopefully, not shot to shit. If the mri is clear of any other serious damage I should be good to go for mid Dec. If not, I will be soliciting donations for the installation of a padded room to protect myself from additional injury and to pay for weekly keg replacements to keep me heavily sedated during any storms!

    Enjoy the soirée all!

As usual. I'm a maybe again this year. Father is in the hospital. Depending on how his recovery goes I may need to spend most of my weekends over the next few months in NJ.

Thanks guys. I already have my pt guy ready to go, he promised to have me set for the first good dump in Dec if the mri shows some love. Nice to have a pt buddy that you ride with during the season, he gets the urgency without ever having to say a word!

Oct. is by far my fav bike month so I'm a bit bummed, but I guess I'll have to use the time wisely to make some extra coin to justify a new ride for spring...Gman and rog, I'll be talkin to you both when the finance box is refreshed. Rog, glad I never pulled the trigger on those crossmax's.

Bern, I hope all goes well with your pops and that it's not too serious.

    +1 Bela Fleck

We're putting up a few gallons of meat chili, using Cloudland Farms beef. Someone else may want to do a veggie, if so inclined.

^^^The fire department handles that. Bunch of hacks! Seriously, what do they know about heat and smoke?

It's a one day event, MMP. Sorry but you'll have to wait until next year.

I was out hiking part of the LT so I didn't see your post until now. At least you had a nice day for a drive.
