Crystal Ball needed for UT trip

Need to pull the trigger soon on a flight for the annual trip to the Wasatch Amusement Park.

Right now I’m looking at a Thursday night (3-24) arrival with a Sunday night (3-27) departure.

My other option is the same days, only a week later. Thursday 3-31 to 4-3.

Any UT weather geeks have some extended forecast beta to share. Powder snow would of course be nice but so would good weather, visibility, and stable snowpack. If it’s a spring dump or a corn cycle…I should feel right at home. And if it’s the white room, that’d be ok too.

    Any thoughts?

I can't help you with the weather, but you should get your wanker ass here on the weekdays so we can head out and tag some stuff.

Take the earlier itinerary, a weather change might be on the way. Plus, I will be on a climbing trip on the latter itinerary. Would be fun to show you around the lines you see on here all the time.

    Keep me posted.

So you want a 13 to 21 day forecast? I'd say you should use a magic 8 ball, rather than a crystal ball....with the pattern we're about to go into, it's going to be hard enough to get the timing down on what's going to happen the next day out...

Not this year for me. Too much other stuff going on. Next year might be a possibility....especially if i get one of the jobs I'm applying for. Either 6 or 8 months on, the rest of the year off! And guess what time of the year i would have off.....drum roll please....anywhere between Nov 1 and Mar 31.

    Stoy-bcrider:

I haven't been skiing in the Sierra for a few years. We used to go there every spring for a week or two.

We should go next year and bring the fatty Trackhead motorhome, park at the climber campground at the 'pit' just north of Bishop. Set up a slack line for evening booze fest, ski all day, hot pots, etc.

    TH,
Ok, I’m starting to entertain a Saturday-Tuesday option. Is Monday and/or Tuesday better for you than a Thursday and/or Friday?

    Ps – "trackhead’s traveling basecamp"…I like it!

    Stoy,
Tahoe is rad and you could definitely spend a month hitting the various bc possibilities but the real deal is down south a little. You guys would dig it. Check out this thread for a gander.

Monday-tuesday is better for me. I am leaving for my climbing gig March 28th for a week or so.

So the earlier dates would be cool. Whatever works for ya.

do it in May and I'll be all over that. Don't forget you climbing gear since the Gorge is right there, not to mention 1000's of boulder problems.
