I'm headed to Chamonix next weekend and my boards are in need of a good base grind... anybody know of a reliable shop in Chamonix or St. Gervais?

I forget the name of the place, but in Cham Sud head down river from the Rue Aiguille Du Midi. Take the first turning left and on your right is a tuning only place - they just do base grinds/repairs/tuning.
