Gimps - get banner to write you a script for massage and find someone who can get in there and move things. Who doesn't like a good massage? Assuming the insurance company is paying for it, your back muscles are going to get worked crutching around, too.

I was bummed to hear that Porter's is closing. That was the place to go when I was a kid. I bought skis for my kid there a few months ago.

They've always taken good care of me.

My pops took me there after I snapped a ski at Squaw when I was 10,11 ish. He was trying to be pissed and trying to be proud at the same time. I was flinging myself when I broke my ski. I got newer better skis and a "stern" (laughing) talking to about not destroying skis while acting like a jackass.

Back then we shopped at Porter's, Helm, Oshman's, and Mel Cotton's.

Recently, we've scored great deals on skis for young Owen and Krystal Kartwright.

I've been shopping at Alpenglow, Sports Exchange, and The Backcountry for a long time. All good. All worth visiting.

Our new favorite shop is Start Haus. We have been very well taken care of.
I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

The Sun says one reason is dispute with a major vendor--wonder which one and what kind of dispute.

Did a quick hike out towards Elephant's Back yesterday. Conditions were meh… variable. Saw a couple of guys after who said there's good corn on the backside of round top.

Weird thing happened after, though. While enjoying a beer at CP these two dudes a girl in a bathrobe jump out of the car. They run across the road and the girl starts posing next to the CP elevation sign. Photo shoot ensues, girl drops the robe and is completely nude, more pics are taken, then they jump back in the car and take off.

Esses, did you submit your observations to SAC?

Did you observe large naturals at pass elevation? Or any loose wet qualities?

Bravo, bravo. Still waiting for the trip report on the debrief with Engerbretson.

Was she hot, Esses? (I'm guessing likely because why would you do a nude photo session of an ugly chick?) Curious whether those photos turn up here at some point.

    I wonder that as well.

I stopped going to Porter's because of their lack of customer service and product selection.

Yeah, she was pretty hot, but not amazingly so. Early twenties maybe, long hair, smaller tits, fit body. Not what I would consider a pro, but she was with two sleazy looking dudes, so who knows? I'd be interested to see the pictures

ECP - Elephants back was def stable, just not the best skiing, IMHO.

So, what you are saying is, you observed:
Small naturals, loose wet quality, and potential for very deep boot pen?

Sounds like a Santa Monica 5 and a Tahoe 9 sighting.

I can remember coming to Tahoe and Porter's often being our first stop back when I was 15 or so. There were no true ski shops on the central coast, so going to Porters was like a wet dream. We continued to support Porter's well into adulthood. We most definitely brought our son there for about his first 10 sets of skis, and they were also his first sponsor as a freestyle athlete. Eric was always the best. Once he left, we have gradually migrated toward the Sports Exchange.

Nobody wants to see these shops fail. I still have a soft place in my heart for that SLT tourist mecca The Outdoorsman....

Do vendors require shops to purchase a certain minimum of product across the whole line, regardless of what sells at that location? This has been a big issue in the music business, where Gibson and Fender are famous for requiring shops, especially small ones, to buy stuff they can't sell if they want to carry the line. I don't know if that's standard in the ski business.

    SLT to truckee transport options?

    Hey Folks,

Need to get from Kirkwood to Truckee area on Sunday march 23. I've found a shuttle from KW to SLT for $15 and then get stuck at SLC other than rental car and taxi. Taxi and one way rental from SLT to Truckee are all about same price.

Are there any options I'm overlooking?

Thanks in advance for any info!

Yeah, I'd verify that. I really should've performed an extended column test to add more detail to my report.
