Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.
Besides the comet that killed the dinosaurs nothing has destroyed a species faster than entitled white people.-ajp
Thanks for the Beta guys. Sounds like Tallac will wait until we get some serious snow at lake level. I'll plan on taking my buddy up to the Rose area instead since it's a lot closer anyway and we won't have to deal with as much bushwhacking.
So, I have two LT six-packs burning hole in my pocket and I need to make a decision to hit it now before snow is gone or wait until conditions improve …well, your guess is probably better than mine ...have a toke and get back to me.
Ps, where is a good place to stay near north shore (near incline village) and south shore? Thanks.
Tanuki snow report this morning. It's actually snowing very lightly in KB.

Anyone notice that fracture line in Northbowl?![]()
Damn court!!! I can only imagine how painful and tough that must have been getting out of there. Thank the spirits you werent alone. Is yer doctor part if the Tahoe ortho group???? If so maybe our paths will cross ther for dr visits and pt. I finally escaped from lost Vegas and am goin to see banner tomoro for my first Tahoe followup and to get stitches out. I just read my operation notes and was some scary shit. It said my pilon fracture was more of a salvage operation and am looking at having to get my ankle fused in a few months. I hope yer operation went smooth and you fully recover. Keep in touch brother and on the bright side we have the Olympics to watch and march madness is around the corner. I wasn't going to get tv but since I am down for many months I got directv so feel free to come over anytime to watch some action +++++++
Got a question for the crowd here as it seems many have given some good advice already. I had a rod put in my femur after it snapped and is getting stronger and followup X-rays look good. But I can't bend my leg for shit now. I know my quad muscles got severely damaged from the femur fracture and it seems that it is my muscle right above my knee that is preventing me from being able to bend my leg. Dr said to massage it And it will eventually loosen up but I am really questioning if it is that simple. I fear that it is not going to get better and was wondering if anyone has any knowledge to share on this. It just isn't improving at all and it's been almost 3 weeks since my femur operation. Could ther be some other issue that is causing this problem???thanx
Gimpy- I have no specific knowledge of your injury, but if you want to consult a physical therapist, my friend in Meyers is great and is setting up a new practice. Happy to pass on her info.
Crystal Update 02/19/14, 4:21pm
"Over the past 4 days we have received an incredible 69 inches of snow it's still coming down! The primary surface conditions are soft powder, and skier packed powder. High Campbell is open and offering some incredible skiing right now. Crews will be out working on Northway for a potential opening at some point tomorrow. Please practice deep snow safety and ski or ride with a visible partner. All operations are weather and conditions permitting."
After hitting Crystal tomorrow on ...I will try to bring PNW pow to LT in early March.
Has anyone checked out Blackwood lately? I'm going to be in Tahoe all of next week and figured I'd poke around one morning at least, so just wondering if I need to hike in with skis on the pack at first or what. Haven't been all season. I have low expectations with the snow fall levels of late...
good day at squaw today.
the slot was dope.
it's nice to finally ski the good stuff.
Still waiting...
atrophy? or something else. When I busted my scapula years ago, my arm was in a brace for 2 weeks to keep me from moving my shoulder. When I got out of it, I was unable to move my arm at all, but what was more shocking is it took a good six months to recover most of my range of motion of my shoulder. I was able to ski about a month after the break (but could not really fall on my right side) but it took me until June to get back in the water and paddle a board. I broke it in early December. So it might just be an issue of slowly getting the muscles back into shape. But, if you can, I'd get a second opinion, as you don't want to wait too long if there is another issue that needs to be addressed. Goes without saying that PT made a huge difference in my recovery. I still do a number of the exercises I learned to keep my shoulder from getting too tight. Hope you two heal up well and we see you back before we expect it.
Gimpy as an FYI living up to your screen name is not a requirement!
I think Ottime has it pretty well covered, your PT will include getting your range of motion back, it's gonna hurt. If it's an option for you definitely get a second opinion, my guess is the docs in south lake work with these kinds of injury's more than Vegas, but what do I know.
K thanx fellas
Goin to see dr banner today so will def get his take on it in addition to the pt guys advice
Sick gold medal game in women's Olympic hockey today. Talk about a choke job. Hopefully the men fare better against our neighbors to the north in the semis. I love this shit
On a side note I see lots of folks suggesting to puff tough to get thru times of injury. I am a chronic chronic user but havnt indulged in 3+ weeks. For me it is totally unenjoyable as it just makes me hyper focused on my injury and makes it hurt worse. Supposedly it increases blood flow as well so it just makes my injury start throbbing and hurting more. Does anyone else experience this????
Here's some Tahoe exodus Telluride footage I procured from last week...
I'll be skiing around Kirkwood on Sunday.
I would strongly suggest high CBD/CBN edibles over smoke/vape for pain management. A large component of the 'paranoid/anxiety' or 'focused' feeling is due to THC & THCV. There's a lot of compounds at work, and working together, so it may just be the strain you have access to. They are all different ratios. Generally speaking, heavy indica's are better for pain/sleep and sativa's work best on mental states. There's a ton of research going into high CBD strains, look it up, might be helpful. http://www.projectcbd.org/
Hey,
Wondering if any of you BayAreaMaggots could pick up some ski's from our place in Oakland, and take them up to Alpine (or Truckee) for Wobby to use?
Friday evening (tomorrow) would work, but we're away over the weekend.
Or next week?
If you can help, PM Wobby and he'll give you our phone#.
Yesterday we were at Sierra, and found the groomers were impeccable, but the ungroomed was a bit of a pain.
Smooth areas were fine. But the old frozen ruts & holes bounced you around unpleasantly. Skiable yes, but work, you know?
But, one place there was Corning up nicely in the sun, and was empty until late in the day. RESULT!
Weekend we actually enjoyed Squaw (on Sunday) more than KW (on Saturday). First time I've said that this season!
There was blower on crust under Solitude, which made for a pleasantly mellow time, and it was fun to ski GC. Lots of peeps hiking it.
We'll be at Sierra again on Sat & KW on Sun. Yo!
