Squaw on Friday April 25th. Plenty of stashes all day long until I left at 4:00pm and it was still dumping with no lift lines.

Footage is mediocre at best. No TGR-ish big hits/jumps because I'm skiing on a bum knee and on the wrong side of 50.
    ...years old, not Hwy 50.

Happy belated birthday. No reason for me to buy a go pro for the above stated reason For no lift lines it sure was tracked out. Frickin CA resorts.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

    That footage was from 3:00pm.

Interesting - maybe people HAVE forgot about this season? Only the dedicated willing to drive solo?

Yeah Kirkwood was awesome. I had a debilitating hangover this morning. Idiot.

Tried to ski with Turx, but Owen quit on us early. Mama's turn to ski while I hang with the little man.

I have a pile of $55 vouchers if anyone needs 'em for Sunday.

remote sensors are putting it at 7C at the base today. So, things got pretty set up then I assume? And reports from late in the day re: snow conditions will be welcomed.

As for side country... Are there tracks back in thunder, back 40 or spur???? Hoping to get some lift served skiing tomorrow, with a few extra pow runs for good measure.

Great day and yes the boundary was open, but I approached from Danberg. Bunch of people out there hiked over on the ridge. Snow was baked even in the trees by late day, hoping a cool clear night sucks some moister out.

    CPSSR was nice.

Had to do a double take when I saw a familiar pair of fluorescent orange pants skinning up the hill - Powdork is back! Hopefully he'll post a proper trip report.

Fucking Vail ruining your date weekend. :screwy:

From MrSmith's post, it's sounds like both of Greater Lake Tahoe's corporate ski overlords were up to their usual hijinx today.

I switched to SB for next season. Done with those fucks (for now, at least).

Sure it was busy at Alpine, and sure if they ran Roundhouse the lines would have been shorter, however, if you knew how to work the line the laps were quick and fun.

Given the coverage (or lack there of) prior to the storm, I was surprised at how much terrain Squaw opened.

Sounds like anywhere open today was busy.

That was my thought for this season. I bought the most minimal Sugar Bowl pass available and had fun on icy, low tide runs during most of the season. I've had many, many fun days at Sugar Bowl. But I made the longer drive, higher up the hill one day after a late season warm storm spackled the Wood with 18" of cement and basically pissed on every other resort. I re-upped my Vailwood only pass for the '14-15 season that same day. While I'm not completely overjoyed with the Vail takeover, the mountain is still the mountain that I love, and that's where I'll spend the most time gaping and flailing next year.... and it still has more of a dirt-bag ski AREA feel to it than a typical Vail-owned douche-baggy ski RESORT like fuck-star or (far from fkn) heavenly. hella

Alpine skied great today... stoked so many people bailed around noon right when the wind and cloud cover came in
Was really surprised how good the snow stayed and how relatively untracked it was after noon

    Kwood.
How many tracks went down thunder? And how was that snow? The eights down the ridge look nice. And is that some crazy transition at the bottom of once? Looks like it goes suddenly steep to flat.

Did not see any tracks in thunder bowl proper. But it looked money out there. We took the low angle first section down, then headed up to the spur. Snow was shit on the spur and in the trees.

It's going to be interesting to see how next season plays out. The first big powder day that falls on a weekend I'll likely be using one of my 4 Sugar Bowl tickets from my Squawlpine gold pass. I'm sure I won't be the only one taking that approach and I expect a lot of SB regulars are going to be pissed.

they don't need new lifts to improve lifts. 4 could be high speed. 10 could be high speed. 2 could be high speed. there could be a lift to the top of palisades (hopefully this would start away from 7's base so that area could remain beginner friendly). i know there would be people against all of these improvements, but they would still be improvements for most.
the large lot across from timber creek could be multi-story. the chair 10 lot could be multi-story especially once the rebar forest there is finished. the chair 10 lot and lots by the powerhouse could be paved and drainage added. sure that wouldn't add spots but would be great for user experience and the environment. and we all know where vail stands on that.
powdork.com - new and improved, with 20% more dork.

I thought part of the charm of Kirkwood was parking in a muddy parking lot behind garbage bins.

Way to get out there yesterday Powdork, not only is it a pretty amazing comeback, so far the photo of you skiing I saw yesterday is the best I've seen from this storm cycle
