I need SLC reccos for late lunch/very early dinner. My sister is flying in and then almost immediately driving out, so just want somewhere to sit down for a meal and talk for awhile. Mid-rangeish.

    For Japanese

    Koyote (not open from 3-5)
    Ramen Ichizu

If you can make Koyote work that's always our go to. Great vibe, awesome place to eat and catch up

Of course we're probably eating at around 330.

So, presumably you want to something close to the airport and I-15? Sounds like a great excuse to hit Red Iguana. Perfect time of day to go there, too. Or maybe Sabor Latino.

Nomad Eatery at Uinta brewing is great and close to the airport, 2nd Ramen Ichizu and DTM's suggestions above for that time window. The Pearl in the Central Ninth area is also very good. There's a bunch of great mexican as you head farther south on 5600w too, Casa de Tamal, for example, but not a great option if keeping proximity to freeway is of importance.

I was kinda thinking Red Iguana, I can't remember if she has been there or not. She's heading south out of town, so not a big deal to go further down valley for the right place I guess. I've never heard of Sabor Latino, I'll check that out too.

MakanMakan, Pho33, Afghan Kitchen, or One More Noodle House all are amazing if you want more "1st generation immigrant restaurants".

    Okay y'all

In SLC to get a flash piece done for Friday the 13th and I've got an hour to kill, so I went in and ate in at One More Noodle

    Holy shit

    Holy fucking shit

I've been recommending them for the past few years solely on the basis of their takeout (Covid habits die hard I guess), but eating in? This is breathtaking, the single hardiest and most satisfying bowl of soup that has ever been set before me. Not only is it GINORMOUS, but it tastes absolutely amazing. Goddamn this place slaps

My order is spicy numbing beef (which I've probably had 50+ times by now) and wood ear salad, and eating this in house is truly life changing.

Do not sleep on this joint

You might be able to get it with a rice noodle. Can’t remember if they have those. The broth is absolutely insane.

When you pick it up to go the noodles are separate from the broth. Substitute at home whatever you want. I'm pretty sure they have rice noodles though.

Tgapp I owe you forever this rec, btw.

Random rec: Eggbreak is great. When they opened it was good but they have hit their groove now and most of their breakfast sandwiches are great.

Went to [emoji637][emoji637]hauz in PC tonight. I feel like we got honky level spicy, I’d be interested to ask her for the food like the Jamaicans would eat it. Owner was so so friendly. Definitely recommend

Ah, cool, didn't see an option for different noodles in their online ordering site, but it was a bit clunky. This is definitely something I'd prefer to eat in-house.

Wife and I went for an anniversary dinner to Cultivate Craft tonight, we liked it.

Had the burrata as an appetizer, tasty and good bread.

I had the cranberry glazed meatloaf, I love meatloaf and this was definitely on point.

Good cocktails, I had the very old fashioned. Served in a smoke filled dome, could smell the smoke on every drink. It added nicely to the scotch.

I guess it's Chuck-A-Rama for Utah's #1 fried chicken. I realize that my options will be limited but there's gotta be something.

There's lots of great chain restaurants in Lehi if Chuck-A-Rama doesn't work! Cafe Zupas, Jinya, Spitz, Tsunami, etc.

I seem to recall rideit saying really good things about Nazca Grill, and he's spent a lot of time in Peru and would know. Reviews and pics look solid.

Curiously, that one doesn’t ring a bell. My favorite is closed now, (it was a little chi-chi, but truly great seafood)but my new favorite is in Orem.
Just fantastic. More down-home, very, very reasonable.
(I’m actually surprised they have a website).
Kind of place that has a well stocked S.A. tienda next door, etc.

EDIT: The pictures of the food at Nazca Grill look the business!
