I love what Caputo's is about but they rely too much on Olive relish and their Muffallata is not a real NOLA style Muffy

It's an Italian thing. Every region does shit different. The italians brought it to NOLA. It's not NOLA. I'm not a huge fan of that sandwich personally. Coming from NY/NJ area Caputo's is way over priced. Pretty good but just overpriced. NY/NJ is kind of italy east though maybe I'm being unfair

Fridays only. Liberty Heights Fresh. Bad Ass Brisket sandwich. $10.
One of these weeks I will eat this on a Friday and Beltex Cubano on Saturday...perhaps while drinking the growler of the week from Epic.
My life is suddenly revolving around exclusive, time restricted food and drink.
In MKE currently and will be attending Friday fish fry tomorrow. Heh.
^ I like your style
Got Joe's pizza shipped to me from The Village. GF ordered it for me from Goldbelly. Came vacuum sealed and frozen. You just put it in the oven for a few min and its supposed to be as dank as the real thing.
Will do a subsequent TR to document
This is the SLC eats thread man....
Sounds tasty tho.

TR: "The Best Pizza in SLC" /GoldBelly Delivery from Joes Pizza NYC
When I returned home from work a styrofoam box containing 2 Pies from Joe's NYC Pizza (Greenwich Village Location) Greeted me. Joes Pizza is arguably the best slice in the city and not because I'm saying it, but because everyone that matters affirms that its the best- No question about it, the best Pizza on the planet.
I quickly unboxed the Pizza and was greeted by a familiar sight:
,
I received one Cheese and one Pepperoni Pie that came wrapped in plastic like a typical frozen pizza
Once removed from its Plastic Sheath, I inspected the flash frozen pie and admired its beautiful aesthetic
The finished product was magnificent. While it lacked the NYC "Crunch" associated with the greatest Pizza region in the world, it did have the NYC "flop" and the combination of cheese, sauce, and cured pork was heavenly. It was unequivocally the best Pizza being eaten in Salt Lake City last night. ATLSkier, my roommate would corroborate as well and gave it the highest culinary review I have ever witnessed from him- an 8.75- He always sandbags. I would rate it, in my own discerning opinion an 8.95.

One of these days I'll have to give that Friday sammie a shot. Sounds delish. On a slightly different note, but related to exclusive and time restricted, Bean Whole Coffee on 21 and 21, behind Jed's barber shop is some of the best beans in the valley. Its behind Jed's barber shop, and oddly enough, guy's name is Jed. Has a few roasts, generally 2 on nitro coldbrew to try, and concentrate to take home. Does not do cups there, but will pump you full of samples in the shop. Top notch. Also right there is Aimee's Home Cookin seasoningswhich are fantastic. For beer, I can't keep praising 2 Row enough. Some of the best IPA's in the valley, and a fantastic Imperial Stout.
Went to Bon Rico in Evanston for our annual white elephant/steak coma christmas. I got the Country Cut Ribeye, rare. $43 for the steak but you get rolls, soup, salad, crudites, and a cinnamon knot.![]()

So much in this thread to digest (ha). Looks like I need to get out more.
Yes! I love the slaw on there too.
And 3rds re: 2row. Best beer in Utah right now. Super nice guy too. That dude works his ass off.
He’ll fresh pour growlers sometimes if they’re out in the fridge.
The Epic New England IPAs have been treating me right too, when I can get them.

yeahhhh those epic new englands are legit. the wine store has been having them more often than not, if you’re downtownish
Little xmas gift from a coworker. If you haven't had one of these, go get one tomorrow. They may very well be 5,000 calories, but well worth it.

Wow...looks pretty good for a frozen pizza. Is it worth $80 though? That's the prices i found online. Looks like its currently sold out too. Seems spendy for 16 slices.

maybe a long shot but can anyone recommend a spot in the valley with a good nashville hot chicken? gotta scratch this itch
There used to be SoCo on Main St, but it closed.
In lieu of that, Curry Fried Chicken on State is delicious. Not Nashville hot, but great fried chicken. They have a hot sauce they serve with their plates that is legit.
^ ya I’ve seen that place, never been. will have to check it out.
btw the wings at molly greens at brighton are top notch.
Slightly OT, but anyone know where you can buy Topo Chico Agua De Mineral outside of Whole Foods?
Best Mineral Water on the planet IMO
I doubt its made it this far west yet. With that said, Nashville Hot Chicken is one of my most beloved eats. TBH, if you are outside of TN, GA, and Alabama, its best to make a pilgrimage to Nashville and have the real thing from Prince's or Hattie B's. I know Atlanta is getting a Hattie B's soon, I will investigate to see if its landed yet when I go home for Crimmuh in a few days. Hot Chicken has been a fairly common staple at places like Holeman and Finch and One Eared Stag in Atlanta. I recall it getting big around 2011-2012 ish.
Ain't nothin better
There is a place called Porch in South Jordan that apparently is fantastic soul food, but I have not been. Looks like they only have standard fried. Garage on beck also does standard fried. Might have to try to make some nashville hot at home soon.

Here's the recipe for Hattie B's.
I'm getting an air fryer over the Holidays so may try to attempt. I will post a TR on it
bummer. there was actually a place in Portland, ME that did a pretty decent job at it, not sure if they're still around. I don't make it to the southeast much though so it might be a waiting game...
there's a place that hasn't opened but still has a sign, on regent st behind the eccles, that advertises nashville hot chicken. it says opening 2017 so any day now I guessbut it's said that for over a year now

Coming soon this is Viet Pham’s latest venture and as a big fan of Viet (formerly of Forage and Iron Chef fame) and hot chicken I am beyond stoked
Samuel L. Jackson as Jules Winnfield: Oh, I'm sorry. Did I break your concentration?
