Franklin is great but the food is pricey. Great place to go on an expense account

Went to TF. Picked up some Squirrel. Best SLC brewed beer I’ve had yet. Thanks for the recs.

Anybody have a sushi alternative to Kyoto so we don’t have to wait till eight fifteen tonight for a table? Don’t want crazy expensive but normal sushi prices are fine. Any thoughts?

Had to jump off the train for one extra beer here on my way south from downtown. I completely agree. Best beer in the valley.

Mint worked out great. Little unusual, definitely interesting, and quite well done. Everybody was happy.

Thanks Mags, appreciate the quick answers. Keeping a group happy is a pain in the ass.

Also I can’t believe I never made it to TF before. Phall, Tgapp, jtran and others - you guys kept telling me to get there. I’m a bad listener apparently. But I’ve got it through my skull now. As Buzz said, best beer in the valley.

Oh, re: Proper, don’t love their hazys but the vibe and the pool are great and the burgers are fantastic. Maybe my favorite burger in the city atm. Though I’m told by someone I trust that will change when I finally make it to Rich’s…

Glad to hear that Mint was a hit. "Little unusual, definitely interesting, and quite well done" sums it up perfectly. I'd be curious to hear what you got. I'm partial to the salmon belly, scallops, jalapeño hamachi, and the noodle tuna.

Anyone been to Facil yet? Those are some next level tacos, so good.

I've gone there since they opened. Usually gentrified tacos are IMO not an improvement from authentic tacos - but Facil tacos are great.

Spicy numbing beef noodles at One more Noodle house is easily my favorite dish at any restaurant in SLC right now. Holy fuck that dish is beyond amazing! I could eat it multiple times a week if it was closer to home.

we've been going to seven brothers lately. it's a Hawaiian burger place - so very different than Crown or Apollo or even JCWs, but it's our favorite burger place in Utah. fkn great. amazing fries.

but agreed, within Greek burger places, crown is the Queen

I know Sushi Burrito has been mentioned but I couldn't find it. That is one helluva bang for the buck. Tasty too. I recommend.

Spending more time downtown now that NHL has started. Have enjoyed Carson Kitchen, Van Ryder, Urban Hill and Sol Agave recently. Really enjoyed both Urban Hill and Sol Agave.

Looking to get to Chile Tepin, Felt, Franklin Ave and even Handle Bar in addition to the brew pubs south of 6th. Love TF beers but haven’t been to the property yet. Need to get to Slackwater downtown - like the Sandy location.

temaki club night at nohm - phenomenal, GO if you like raw fish
ramen ichizu - still unquestionably the best
cutthroat burgers food truck - scratches the smash burger itch

New gyros place from owners of Manolis, Parea. Got takeout, good not great. Not worth the price IMO (almost $40 for 2 gyros, 1 just a gyro, 1 the "plate"). Might be better dining in?

Will SLC ever get a White Castle? Just imagine if they did and the first opening was in the White City.

Like you could get a little bag of burgers, go down to that drainage area on a class 3E bike smoke a bunch of crack and fucking do whatever and then get arrested because it's not 1993 anymore.
