Thanks! I love upscale traditional Italian, I was stationed in Italy 20 years ago, it’s hard to find places in the states that do Italian right. The menu looks great, this might just be the place for our anniversary dinner!

That is a solid recommendation! Also check out Cucina for one of your meals - I promise you wont be disappointed.

I think I mentioned this earlier, but the latest Peruvian place that I am raving about is Perú51 in Orem. Hole in the wall, next to an outstanding Peruvian S.A. Market.
Highly, highly recommend, especially if you are driving to Park City/Heber through there.

Broadly speaking I think some of the best 1st gen immigrant food in Utah is in Provo/Orem. Those Mormon RMs want to eat the food of the countries they served in and they know it well enough to be incredibly discerning.

I'm in Salt Lake less and less these days but I have a few shifts to my recommendations; unfortunately I think Kobe has slipped and is no longer the king of mid priced sushi it once was. Ramen was still tasty though. Afghan Kitchen is as amazing as ever (which is to say, way better than I remember it being).

    We are headed here: https://www.blatchsbackyardbbq.com/

It's gotten a TON of awards and overwhelmingly positive reviews, notably from not just vegans but from BBQ aficionados.

I'll have to go there soon. Before having a vegan BBQ sandwich at Old Cuss Cafe I would have never have believed vegan BBQ was worth a dime. That sandwich was something else.

This is more for SLC drinks but here’s the DABS price list for November. Some decent wines are on sale this month.

    Some food updates -

    1. Newly reopened Bar Nohm is just as amazing as ever. Pictured here is the Oden, which IMO is a must eat. Love the grilled chicken skin and grilled chicken hearts.
    2. I stand by my Blatch's recommendation. That place is fucking delicious. So good. 10/10.
    3. Checked out Level Crossing's brewpub. Amazing beer, great prices, honestly very good pizza.
    4. Went to another vegan place that I'll write a full TR of later. Oh my.

we drive down from ogden to do trivia at level crossing on monday about once a month. They have Geeks (our favorite brand) and do a good job with it. Starts at 6 so it's nice to be home early. /old man

Well Redrock just priced themselves out. Stopped for a beer after an once a decade clothes shopping experience and upon looking at the menu, their not very good food went up by $2-4 per item and a 5% beer from the tap is now $8.

    No mas and adios.

red rock got on my shit list when they actively lobbied the state government to not raise the ABV of grocery story beers because they wanted to protect their monopoly. they did it "out of concern for the potential of alcohol abuse of higher point beers"

    those fuckers, fuck that place

Hard to sell a $8 beer at the restaurant when you can get a sixer of the same swill for $5.99 at the Harmon's.

I disagree, the Elephino and the Anniversary 20 are very good. The rest of their beers I think are bad. I'm not going to try them all to see if I'm wrong though, too many good other beers to choose from. Hearing they lobbied against higher ABV is new to me, god damn that's ridiculous.

I try to avoid Level Crossing IMO kinda boring but I do think Templin and Roha can be great. Salt Fire is overpriced and hit and miss IMO. You can spend a lot for a shit beer or spend a lot for a good beer there, I guess they are inconsistent like all Utah breweries.

yea i used to think red rock was the best out of the original 4 or 5 when i first got here (wasatch, squatters, etc). still like griswald and marvella (and will order eliphino if it's the only thing on a menu) but def don't seek their beers out like TF, 2 row, etc. haven't been to the brewery in awhile either.
