    65's and 3.8's. Try again.

So nice to see the proliferation of full squish fatties Saving my pennies for Gen 2. I want 90's with room for 4.5-5" rubber for a truly year round quiver killer.

It would be fine for a trail duty. I think my plan will be to keep the Pugs with holey Ds as my wide rig and Buzzsaw for hard trail riding.

Since i got a moolander fork i could go hundy up front ,nu build, and the 8ty out back.

Will be putting up a set of marge lites, double walled with the internal cutouts, for an offset frame (Pugs).

    Inquire within

Super stout wheels, not as heavy as the older downhills with the full double walls.

I'm certainly not too experienced in the fatty bike world....but a friend and former co-worker who has spent a few winters riding fatties a fair amount and has probably forgotten more than I know about mountain bikes swears that the Bluto is the game changer. I asked him about the Buzzsaw, and he was like, "meh, it was cool, not sure if I would ever feel the need for an FS fat bike." However, he was super duper into the Bluto because he feels the front suspension will give more refined(read: damped)suspension to the front end of the bike when riding over re-frozen tracks and footprints. Better steering and more control going up, down and across.

And that there is my contribution to this thread.

^^^Hmmm...Still not convinced on the need for Suspension in the winter. Main concern is durability in the really cold as my bike will be outside or in a non-heated shed for the winter. Only a winter bike for me. I assume your friend is jumping into the Bluto this winter. New problem for me is I cant track down a lightish rigid fork in 150mm spacing to replace the RS that comes stock on my bike so I might have to ride it. (poor me right?)

I agree with your friend. Here on the coast we get melt/rain/freeze cycles along with snowshoers and those ruts are a bitch. Suspension would help all of that I think.

I think I would still want FS on dirt, but not completely necessary. Front suspension is more necessary for me personally.

I'm looking forward to the first snow ride

there's no reason to ride where there are frozen ruts. Plenty of land around to pack your own trails or ride places like fort rock/stratham, or many other places that get packed smooth.

Buzzsaw was just too pricey for me at this time. That's why I popped for the Farley 8.
I ride year round on the fatty and if it hasn't snowed in a while, the trails gets walked on and get a ballpeen hammered surface.
I'll let you guys know how the Bluto works this winter. 42f out this morning and it was perfect.

When I use to live in pittsburgh I rode all winter long on various bikes with suspension and honestly never had an issue even in below zero temps...... no idea why the bluto would be any different.

Not sure you "need" it but if you want I would not let cold weather performance stop you from buying it.

Wifey just surprised me for my birthday today with a new Mukluk with a Bluto up front. Psyched! This this is an absolute blast on dirt. I really was surprised how it handled. I expected much more bounce and tire drift, but it kinda railed. Nothing like 4" tires for plowing, and the front fork is nicer than my pooched out 36. This thing is gonna be fun when the snow flies!
