A total of 176 snowmobiles and no snowcoaches traveled over Sylvan Pass on their way to the Yellowstone Interior this past winter.
That’s a busy season, judging by traffic in recent winters. In 2009-10, 81 oversnow vehicles crested the pass en route from Cody to Yellowstone; in 2008-2009, the tally was 73.
The cost to keep Sylvan Pass open every year, the latest environmental impact statement estimates, is $125,000.
What a complete waste of money.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.
