Coloradans - I need some heavy lifting help (NSR)

I have an odd request and who better than to ask than a bunch of oddballs like you.

As mentioned in a previous thread I'm working on a project that involves some very sophisticated videoconferencing equipment.

To see this equipment watch this.

This equipment will operate on a dedicated Virtual Private Network. A T-1 connection between Denver, Colorado and Ogden, Utah. Sometime in the next few weeks I have to drive the Denver equipment out there and install it. Not only is this equipment cool, it's extremely well made (read: heavy). We're talking laser-cut aircraft grade aluminum, steel framing, heavy beam-splitter glass, and at least one or two flux-capicators.

I need some help carrying this equipment (somewhat disassembled) up two flights of stairs into a private residence. I'll have a small amount of money to pay for your sweat and also lots of beer and whiskey. I'll even take you out to dinner.

Plus you can feel proud that you've contributed to science without splitting even one atom.

    Interested? Please PM me.

I'd help, but my arm is still pretty lame from the broken collarbone. If you're out this way we should get some people out though.

That would be great, ya gimp. Maybe you can supervise.

Seriously, I'd love to get together and throw back a few beers while I'm there. Any help at all is greatly appreciated.

I don't know exactly when I'm going but I'm thinking about leaving on the 24th or 25th. I still have to coordinate with several people.

My office is all cleaned up now - that video was shot when we were still unpacking. We actually had to rush to get everything clened up, hang pictures on the walls, put plants and lights in there, etc. before Fox came.

Edit: Hell, as long as I'm there I may be able to get some skiing in....

    Awesome. Thanks!

For a job like this, we drink the Lagavulin single-malt. Squeezed directly from the peat of the Scottish moors. It will grow some hair on your sack.

Robert the Bruce washed his hair in Lagavulin. Should be good enough for you.

Thanks. Having two or three extra pairs of strong arms will be handy. This shit is horrendously heavy. And some bits are fragile. We'll start drinking as soon as we're done.

I thought everyone washed their hair in single-malt? It gives you that classic derelict, boozer scent that's so chic right now.

Okie, dokie, Coloradoans! After some delay due to unforseen circumstances...

Next Tuesday, May 17th, I'll be in need of some help carrying some heavy shit up 2 flights of stairs.

    Anyone still interested?

I'm less gimped and would be happy to help. I'm thinking a maggot drinking night has to follow. The Fearless Freaks comes out that day too.

Well, I'm not exactly a big strong man at 5'2 and 120, but I could carry the fragile bits?

Anyways, I'll have just finished my thesis defense the day before and will probably feel like killing a shitload of brain cells. If I end up going down to D-town to move a bunch of shit to my new home, which might be likely, I'll meet you guys for some beers.
Not on here much anymore. Drop me an email if you want to contact me. Have a wonderful winter!

Cool. We re-designed the unit so we don't have to carry 450 pounds of aircraft-grade aluminum and steel (whew! I was fuggin worried about how that was going to work out.)

The heavy part is a 37" LCD encased in aluminum and steel, with various housings and bits attached. Probably weighs 100 pounds or so. Looks like the thing sitting on this desk:

    (hey, is that Dr. Evil???)

There's some other shit, but it's light. We move the stuff Tuesday morning and then I can do some partay-ing Tuesday night.

Send me your phone numbers via PM so I can get in touch with you when I roll into Denvah in my wicked-sweet rental minivan.

Yeah, I wasn't thinking. I should be rolling into town Monday night at a reasonable time (8:00pm). Maybe it makes more sense to get the stuff unloaded Monday night and then go out right afterwards. Watcha think?

BTW, the location is Aurora. Very near Buckingham Square Shopping Center. Just a bit south of E Mississippi Ave and Sunfish Lake.

I'm in the same boat. Monday night may work.
