    Cornice work

Today was the best day of control work so far. No winds, bright blue sky, warm enough to take off the gloves to fumble with tape and fuses and such. We were testing out some new explosives to control cornices, they look like link sausages 175 feet long, cut to whatever length you need. Here are a few pics, I got some vid of the explosions but have a dial-up and no idea how to upload.

Rolling dice to see who gets to go. I was lucky enough to go, but low enough on the totem pole that I got to carry the 40 pounds of charges (plus my normal pack).

C'mon, flyk. Ya know it's a lot more exciting if you just keep jumping toward the edge until they go.

Yea, so I was at middle bowl when you set that charge off... I got a couple of crappy non-zoomed-in shots off but nothing spectacular. It didn't look like the whole cornice came down, but maybe that's the point.

    Anyway, here they are:

Tried to call you later but I think your phone was off. I'll be up Wednesday.

Man, the Arrowhead doesn't even look close to being good enough to ski this year. What's up with GR and yourself coming up this way? Shoot me your guys' numeros because there could be some good stuff in the near future. How's Hershey doing these days

Whats makes that stuff go? Any residue or storage material that the dogs might like?

BTW kev, I'll just pick up the skins this week and pay you for them...hookup on the flyby back to Sun Valley doesn't look like it'll work.

Hey Stoy, have I said something to you about Hershey before, or do you just know him? GR and I are going to make the trip eventualy, we need some days off together.

Lumpy, I've been carrying around a washcloth with all of the charges this year for you, hopefully it's got enough residue for the dogs to go nuts.

Backpack, thanks for the action shots. Sorry I did'nt get up with you, I turn off my phone when doing control and forgot to turn it back on. Not all of the cornices went all the way, we were experimenting with different placements of the charges and that was one of the first ones we did.
