Heading out to Boysen res. Monday. Heard the canyon is off the hook good. Any special spots? Also, hows the reservoir fish? Doable in a float tube? My lady wants sand between here toes and I dont think we will find that in the canyon.

I have fished the canyon and further down into Thermop. No special spots in the canyon section. You can just drive the hwy and pull over and fish anything that looks good. I prefer to head to the base of the dam and hike the RR tracks down on the other side of the river. Seems to see less traffic. Never fished the Res. so no info on that. I am more of a moving water guy. Nymphs and streamers will reward you with some big fish in the canyon section. A streamer dead drifted with a slight twitch every so often is freakin deadly in the deeper holes. Good luck and please report back. I sure miss that area.

There are tons of pullouts. I've had good fishing at every pullout I have used. Some of the bows should still be in the shallows on the res. A float tube will be ok if the fish are there. Just hope it's not windy. When I gets blowin out there things get rough in a hurry! There are some monsters in there.

Fished the canyon for 3 hours and caught nada. Turned a fish or two on streamers but never hooked one up. Sat and drank a couple brews at the end of my day and saw a 22 or so inch bow come flying out of the water twice. Only jump I saw all day. Ill go back though, nice spot and I need redemption.

Bummer about the skunking man. It is a tailwater and they can be fickle bitches. Phenom one day then the same conditions the next and nada.
