I clicked new posts and got a pop up asking me to save a file. Then when I was trying to screen grab it another error message said it couldn't download it and it looked like an .exe file. I obviously canceled it, but I'm concerned someone not on a mac may get this installed in the background unbeknownst to them? I am clueless about this type of shit. Just an FYI.

SSO is Single Sign On - it's a method used for, well, basically a single sign on. For example, it might allow your sign on for the forum to work on the general site, even though they might be two totally different applications.
As far as the SSOHelper.aspx, my guess would be that's part of one of these web-apps that allows your single sign on from the forum to have you signed in all over the place. But, that's just a GUESS. What it is in this specific instance, I couldn't say for sure. I'd sure as hell be skeptical of any downloads (even though I'd bank on it being an error/server misconfiguration)...<p>
