    School me on streamer/sinking lines...

Any recommendations for a streamer line for a 7 wt. trout rod?

I'm looking at both the SA Streamer Express and the Airflo Streamer Max - both came highly recommended from buddies.

    Any thoughts out there?

I have the streamer express on my 7 weight and it is pretty sweet. On the other hand I have a another spool that has a cheap sink top on it and I actually prefer that for most of my fishing. My type of streamer fishing usually involves casting up against the bank and a couple strips and I'm doing it again. I have found the full sink line is a lot of work to pick up out of the water.
Sorry about the long rambling post but I passionate about my streamer fishing.

Teleee - shared passion here for streamers too. I just can't quit.

I like your thinking on the streamer express vs cheap sink tip. Do you mean a cheap sink tip leader? Or full sink tip line?

Rio outbound short intermediate sink tip is what I'm using this year on a recommendation from a friend. It really shoots it

I like a 7' sinking versileader on the end of my floating WF7. Casts great in my hands. Another option is a longer shooting head for fishing Kelly Gallop style. That's where the Streamer Express lines come in. I have to admit that I much prefer the shorter DIY sink tip. If I fished a lot of big water my preferences would probably switch.

I actually have a full line with sinking tip. But I think the sinking tip on the end of a floating line would work great. I like have the streamer express for big water though.

RIO OutBound Shorts kill it, the Streamertip which comes in intermediate and type 6 are also awesome (based on OutBound Short tapers) so they cast quick and far as well. I am slightly biased though...

I like rio's density compensated sink tip lines. You can mend the floating line well and the tip sinks like a rock, gets flies deeeep.

I'd go for a sink tip. Really not much need on our regional rivers for a full sinking line. Lakes...different story.

Decision made. Gonna go pull the trigger on a sink tip today. Aiming for either the SA Wet Tip or Rio density compensated tip.

I fish Rio Outbound Short (#4, clear tip) in lakes for Coho, deep casts.
    -Love it

Not a fan of the Versi-tip leader pack
-The welded loop connection gets hung up on the eyes at critical times on bigger fish, (in my experience)
