Flies on a plane/need pics of float trips

Anyone run into any issues bringing your fly box on board? Mainly wondering about streamers and if the TSA will flip a shit on those #6 hooks.

Also, anyone have any pictures of floating down the Arkansas I can borrow? I told Miss Spank that I'm going on a 2 day float trip, when I'm actually going fishing with her dad.

Edit: pics needed to convince her I wasn't elsewhere. I always bring a camera with me and she'd be weirded out if I didn't show her pics

Haha, thanks for the laugh! But seriously, Arkansas river (Colorado)pics would be sweet, google images isn't giving me any high quality shots or they're all of older dudes fishing.

I just need to convince the miss for a week that I was where I said I was. They'll only be placed on my laptop to show her, and if you're willing, temporarily posted to FB on my personal account to really sell the story that I was out fishing.

No pics of the Ark but flies should be no problem. I traveled two summers ago with a bunch of saltwater flies with no issues. Fishing tackle is an exception to the TSA rules, I used to have a link to the official TSA page stating such that I printed out and took with me just in case, but can't find it now, try google.

You need to commit to a lie so complex that it requires fake pictures just so you can go fishing with your father-in-law??

This thread has way too much potential for the fishing forum.
Pics of the chick you're going to lie to, to go fishing and then try to marry, and move it to the padded room stat.

Bringing it back to fishing. Apparently the TSA recommends that lures be checked

Hmm, I guess I missed the miss and misread it as mrs... haha.

Good luck to you sir, if it looks like carrying on flies isn't going to work you might want to consider just shipping them. Probably a relatively small/light package so should be nice and cheap and it will save you the hassle of checking a bag.

You'll be fine. Well, as far as carrying your gear anyway. Not so sure about lying to your woman.

I carry my gear onboard all the time, including big hooks like 5/0. Never been hassled about anything, even nippers and forceps. The Bahamians did confiscate a pair of needlenose pliers once, but that doesn't count.

I fly with my fishing crap every couple months and I NEVER check my gear. I'd rather be without my underoos than my tackle. When the security folks see a bag with a bunch of reels, fly boxes, odds and ends, they get the picture.

somewhat related: I recently purchased a multiple rod tube. Holy shit that was a good idea. Beats the hell out of strapping four rod tubes to a backpack and trying to find an overhead to put it in. Also good for day to day use in the car.

Try doing a search by coordinates on Flickr for your photos.

Would she really know what the Arkansas looks like?

Wouldn't shots from the Green, or any other river pass too?

See is Ski Fish Bum has any pics without his dogs in 'em.

I land in Fort Lauderdale at 9:39 Sunday morning, I am guessing I will hit the keys around 1:00 in the afternoon. Assuming I don't have to pull over and take nap from flying all night.

Thanks for the confirmation. Their site says that its 'Recommended' that you check it...but not required.
