    Image corruption help

I have an image that is corrupted, I think from a camera firmware malfunction, but I'm not sure. It won't open in PS, Gimp, Lightroom or any other img working program I've tried and I can't find much help on the internet as it's a .ORF file (Olympus E-1 camera).

I can see a preview of it as long as I don't actually select the file. So I guess it's got some render of it somewhere saved and is incapable of refining that. It's just so damn tantalizingly close and I can't ever get a good look at it.

This became common for a little while when I was in the desert, so I may have got sand somewhere it shouldn't be.

Anyways, I'd really like to see this image, and I was wondering if the resident photo freaks knew anything about how to maybe reformat, or run a image fixing program or some shit that might make it possible to get a good look at it. I can send you the file if it helps.

Edit: Got a screenshot of the img preview.

Tried PC and MAC, and the original software from camera, and some various other programs.

I don't have the camera with me (it's in a box somewhere and I won't see it for at least a few months) so I'm kind of screwed on that front.

I'm not going to be shocked by the reality that it can't be saved, but I am just not as brushed up on tech as I used to be so I thought I would check to see if anyone knew of something that might save it.

You can try some data recovery software? Disk Rescue or something similar? It's only the one image?

I have a few files saved as .orf (normally shoot raw+jpeg) also and Shotwell will open them, haven't tried The Gimp as you said that didn't work for you. Hope that helps you out a bit.
You know, you can swear on this site. Fuck, shit bitch. See?
