I found a good deal on FM on a 1.4x. Might just sell it after my trip.

I would sell my 24-70 v1 if you're serious. Have the box, filters, warranty (and extended warranty still on it), bag, etc. Great lens but I could kind of use the money.

Schralph, you do realize it's quite bright up here when you arrive? Even better on Svalbard. Don't know which lens you plan to stick it on, but a 5.6 aperture should yield pretty nice shutter speeds, and there are places here where some extra tele would be beneficial. If you want, you can borrow my 1ds mkII for the duration of your stay in tromsø, for full frame goodness, and more fov if you end up with that 24-70.

I'll be using it on a 70-200 f/4L. And I bought a really clean TC 1.4 off of FredMiranda for $200.
