BAF's are $69/day, so Splats deal is better if you plan on skiing three days.

I have BAF invites for anybody who needs them for more or less then three days. PM name and email addi to me. More info. here http://www.mammothmountain.com/Mount.../BringAFriend/

It was Mach Looney who smoked up the tent by burning his sleeping bag (he opted for the ancient Native American tactic of placing a hot rock from the fire pit under your feet to stay warm, except nobody told him that you're supposed to put the rock under a few inches of dirt for insulation, not straight into the bottom of your bag!).

For some odd reason my memory of that night may be a little blurry. I can't imagine why

I vaguely recall Big Kuba was still to blame. After all, it was his birthday and the reason the bottle that contributed/directly lead to the debacle was passed around.

    Unadvertised special for Mammoth.

Pass holders from other resorts get $49 lift tickets until the end of the season. I just spent the last 3 days closing down the Canyon Lodge side of Mammoth taking advantage of this special. The people at the ticket kiosk didn't know about it. I asked them to call their boss and it was no problem. Excellent deal!!

I just got the $49 a day special I listed above. It's well past the end date but it's still available, it appears.

Good to know about the pass holder from another resort deal, which is the same as Splat's aforementioned one (which I plunked down on Saturday afternoon...they do make you wade through some serious auto-options--Press 1 for...Press 2 for...etc.--but once I got a live individual on the line they were cool).

The deal we used did not require a pre purchase. We just walked up to the ticket kiosk, showed our pass and were charged $49.00

    That's helpful. Thanks.

I know a lot of folks like Fort FKNA, but Krystal Kartwright wants to camp at the FS campground in town. We'll have Holy Mazurkiewicz (age 2) and his adults with us. Looking into Fri-Sun night reservations. Anyone else interested? We can get a couple sites. Might not even really need reservations. We've never had a problem in the past.

Is Shady Rest even open then? Another option if it is not, a d you don't want to expose the little one to Ft FKNA, is the Mammoth RV park. They have tent sites, showers, pool, hot tub, et cetera.

Any word yet on the actually site for the fort this year? Things were so melted out there should be lots of options.

So I booked to san fran thinking I could surely coerce sopprano into taking me up to mammoth but he seems to have blown up his knee. Now what are my options? It seems the flights to mammoth are all out of somewhere other than sf. I could go with splat by flying into reno but that does seem a bit out of the way especially when pressed for time to catch my flight on the way home.

Why not camp at FKNA (wherever it is this year)? It's spread out, plenty of room for you to find some quiet space for the little one to sleep peacefully. And no campsite fees.

Last few times I was down I recall El Chup and Sinecure camping at alternate FKNA sites nearby sine they had kids in tow...honestly, the past few FKNA sites have been really close, with the exception of the time we were out past the town by the power plant.

Do you mean close to town, or close together (i.e. not much space)?

    (Looking for Lodging...) FOUND!

    EDIT: We have somewhere.
    (Hey,
Cinders & me, and Tini are looking for Lodging. From Thurs night until Monday (or maybe Sunday).

Prolly try & get into Mtn Shadows (Maggot Central).
But, before we book anything wondered if you MammyMaggots might have any suggestions/advice/hook ups?
I'm looking on VRBO. Anywhere else?

Any place close by Roberto's/Vons/Moody's would be cool.
Cheap or free would be mighty fine.
(Thanks for your offer MoGB, PM sent).

    Paging aSandyGal...?)

ElChup is right. Ft FKNA is actually pretty mellow, really. But no bathrooms of course...

Hey Lego, wanna start a rollcall?

Stunt, sorry we can't offer a ride. 3 of us in a Prius+gear. Try hitting up SuPu (if he's going).
Man I am missing the years we'd come down with Sinecure.
(He's got a "real job" these days)

There's tons of SF hookup flights from Reno. It's a 3 hour drive to Mammoth from Reno and it's 3 or more from Reno to SFO, prolly 4 hrs plus. It's a 7 hour drive from SFO to Mammoth. It's a five hour drive from LA, maybe a little more from LAX. It's a 45 minute flight from SFO to RNO. There's some perspective.
