Another intersting peace of technology looks like the Avalanche Airbag System. I saw the distributor JuJu demonstrate one and they looked like a great piece of gear, well designed and well constructed. They've been used in Europe for 15 years... only one person has died after being caught in a slide while wearing one and he succumbed to his injuries.

^ Big discussion on those a couple of months back, also instigated by Trackhead. One of your fellow Canadians, mntlion, had a hold of some 2ndhand ones and was selling them for cheap. Mine is on its way
