I am going to Whistler tonight and should be there through Saturday. Need to know what up with the conditions? I know they're not stellar...but want to know anyways.
thanks

your posting in the wrong forum. its mtn bike season in whistler. the park soon should open sometime next week. going for a ride later today, its kind of wet so the trails will be a bit slippery.

that bad huh? Why did I decide to go to whistler and not Tahoe? FKNA
Its not that I suck at spelling, its that I just don't care
Eh, what can you do? I'll be in Whistler this weekend too - leaving Utah, mind you, and you don't hear me complaining...
Hey RB, what is up with this? Please tell me it is a very bad idea of a joke.

Living vicariously through myself.
Climatology is vauge and useless; Meteorology is where it's at...![]()
(in other words, that forecast is based on long range trends, while the next week is going to be dry in the west, don't worry too much about it)
just got off the hill. It's pissing rain at my humble abode right now. We've had 11cm in the past 24 hrs, which is the most we've had for a month. It's probably snowing right now on the hill... it wasn't when i was up there.
The 11cm we got is all in the alpine. Below that, it's too warm to snow and it's slushy. Not corn, mind you: slush. Like a slurpee, but it tastes a little better.
You can't see your hand in front of your face either. I'm talking pea soup.
On the bright side, it's not crowded. And you're never more than a half hour away from a bar.
There are a lot of maggots in town this weekend. We should get a posse together, regardless of conditions.
Im in for sat, looks like the best day visibility wiseOriginally Posted by PNWbrit

Might be up for some of that myself this Saturday. Was hoping to go Interior but meh, outlook's bleak there. Time/hill/place?
If a plan comes together to meet up at WB let me know.
Sam- thanks for the update....I was crossing my fingers for the good word, but oh well. the peak might be okay tomorrow morning.
If any of you guys are in Merlins for apres, I work behind the bar and have no problems throwing out a few jugs of beer to Maggots. I will be there the next 3 afternoons.
there is also a ski photo contest called "Tales From The Backcountry" going on at My Millenium Place in the Village. There's some sick shots from both pros and amatures, its worth a look.Originally Posted by cab9

Nice work........I will work on that.![]()
We're up for meeting up with anyone at any time, skiing, drinking, whatever...
Samwich has my cell number, and we're driving from Vancouver to Whistler on Saturday morning, then back on Sunday night.
Cab9, you bartending on Saturday?
all right. Here's the deal suckas:
Saturday. 10:00 to 10:15 am. Top of the Whistler gondola: right outside the Roundhouse by the carved wooden man. I'll be wearing grey pants, a black jacket, and a black Giro fullface. After 10:15 (by the clock that the wooden dude is staring at) i won't be there anymore.
howzit sound? would you guys rather do Blackcomb instead, or is Whistler okay with everyone?
Yep, 12-6.Originally Posted by Red Baron

I think blackcomb has more options to find pockets of good snow. whistler is a friggin mogul field right now. lots of flat light afternoon as well. how about 10am at the rendezvous?Originally Posted by Samwich

I'm coming up Saturday. Anybody have radios? 5-13? Good skis, rock skis? Whistler, Blackcomb? So many questions, so little snow.
In drove this drunken madman and stopped on a dime! Unfortunately the dime was in Mr. Rococo's pocket!
all right, change of plans. I'll start a new thread about it, just so everyone knows.Originally Posted by powder11
