    Utards: tax person recs?

    Utarded ones,

My taxes have crossed over the threshhold into "pain in the ass" territory due to having income in more than one state because of the move to Utah back in August. I'm too lazy to bother with all the paperwork required, so can anyone recommend a good accountant who will do this stuff for me for a relatively small amount of deneiros? I'd like to keep it as close to the maggot family if possible, but if noone has recs I'll just hit HR Block I guess.

    Thanks.

let me know too... i'm in the same boat, plus have my first year of being self-employed - so no taxes paid to either state, and i'm dreading doing them.

I used Barry Geoff at Wiggins and Co. our first year out here a few years back cause of the exact same issues. Their office used to be at like 90th south and 900 east and his prices were very reasonable.

Does your version come with the "celebrity grey-area deduction" function already installed?

We've gone to "Tax Time" (They have a real name for the office, but that's what their banner says that you see on 1300) for the past few years. After we bought the house, I did everything with Turbotax, then on paper by hand, came up with totally different numbers and confusion on what was legal to deduct or not (house buying, moving, multiple jobs, mutual funds and stock sold for downpayment and blah blah blah), and brought it to them and they came up with a very good refund and no headache - it's right on 1300 E., and I don't know 8000 S??? (wild guess), on the east side of the street as you're heading towards Ft. Union. It's a white house with a yellow banner out front.

    Stump,

I'm going to the dude UTdave works for. I'll let y'all know my experience. I'm in the same boat, income from 2 different states, NY unemployment while living in Utah, home, adopted Guatemalan children, 10 million in lotto winnings, etc.

I use a guy in Lindon - I've been with him since I was at school down there. He's the man - always creative but within the laws - he's a state auditor for his real job, does taxes on the side.
