A strong upslope system moved into Northern VT the past couple of days. Tree well dweller, non mag buddy, and myself woke up yesterday looking to see where the most fell. It was clearly Jay Peak area upon inspection of photos. We throw our gear in the truck and head up for the unknown. As we drive further North the snow started to pile up and cars were completely buried we knew we were in for a good day. Although we had no idea how good, until we took the first turns. It was a walk right on the lift kind of day and we lucked out by catching every lift opening as they happened.
It was the most consistently deep day we have had in VT in recent memory.
Non mag Rhine getting buried on his first run in 3 feet of jay blower
Treewelldweller tries to suffocate himself
Met up with a local film company "Mad Trees" and took some shots on a lap in bounds with them
After many laps in bounds skiing untracked every run, We decided to head out from the resort to Big Jay
We ended up being the first group out and had to break waist deep trail, thanks to rhine and TWD.
Which was well worth the effort
It snowed more last night and more coming this weekend, but for the first time I have no anxiety about getting out to ski it.![]()
