All I know is that I don't know nothin'... and that's fine.
I was out on the Clarks Fork the other day. I dont have any photographs because taking pictures is women's work and I was alone, the way fly fishing should always be conducted. The fish are uninterested in eating until early afternoon this time of year but I managed to catch two. Two was exactly enough and it was goddamn cold, the valley so deep we lose sunlight around 3pm.
I boiled them later the Swiss way, in a liquor of wine vinegar with bay leaf and a bit of red pepper. They taste like trout that way, not like some chef's wild idea. We ate them with a cold bottle of Sion.
My favorite parts of winter fishing are the sharp, warming taste of whiskey, and undressing in front of a roaring fire to the sounds of your wife making ready to cook in the kitchen. She doesnt even ask, she just uncorks the Sion and pours you a glass.
Nice Sierra fly fisher cover Alka. Going to stop by the Pleasanton show at all?
Papa's killing it.
Well maybe I'm the faggot America
I'm not a part of a redneck agenda
Not winter in the ice and cold sense, but it was December.
