I have volunteered myself to be one of the PMGear's glove designers. I am a gear snob, plain and simple.

We want to design another absolutely bomber glove for next year, we want to improve on this year's offering without too drastic a price increase. Don't misunderstand us, we love this glove, but we realize there is always room from improvement. We want to grow as a company and offer products that are the result of input from hardcore skiers/riders.

I for one, would like to see us also do a mitten. I would like to see a gauntlet style as well. (we will be adding one of these shortly) Spats suggested a "trigger" mitten which gives you the function of the glove with the warmth of a mitten. Spats couldn't say enough good things about the "trigger mitten" with the exception of the price.

What else would you hardcore, badass, skiers/riders like to see in a glove/mitten? Is there a particular lining you find to be really warm? Would you like a removable liner? Do you think the shell, by itself should be a substitue for a spring glove? In your opinion, is goretex the best waterproof material and a must in any ski gear?

snot/nose friendly material on the backs of the tumbs. i had a pair that had some sort of neoprene stuff and my boogers magically disappeared. peeps are gonna wipe their noses on their gloves no matter what, so you might as well make it all soft and nice and not liable to freeze up...

i'm a glove guy - no mittens here. never tried a trigger - always too expensive or too stupid lookin. i would ditch that big ass wrist velcro action too...

exactly. i use this thing all day.

also, i suck at holding onto things on the chair when fumbling around. my gloves have a string that attaches to my wrists (burton makes 'em). i won't buy a glove without them now.

I totatlly agree. People have been making fun of me for years for having my mittens attached at the wrist, but I won't buy a glove/mitten without that cord either.

Used my new PM bomber gloves for the first time today (they rocked) and I have to say the booger wiping occured to me everytime I did it. (once maybe twice).
Something a little more nose friendly in the booger zone would really rock.

i think the problem with using the shell as a spring glove is that it is always too big and hard and stuff. not the toight leather/synth most peeps look for in a good spring glove.

why not make the liner a tasty spring glove and the shell a teflon beast with a snot friendly thumb back? i'd buy it.

spring gloves and burely shells are too expensive separate. i usually end up using leather gardening gloves in the spring...

mittens or gloves with thin pieces of foam on the backs of fingers and leather make the gloves fingers small so you dexterity and theres actually an advantage to mittens. I went shopping for gloves last weekend. its so fustrating how many gloves suck. The only pairs I liked were ice climbing gloves that were at least $150. just make your gloves like the black diamond ice climber gloves.

We like to have something to compare to, pollard. What makes this $150 pair of glovers so appealing to you? We've had a couple ice climbers buy the KevGlove for the kevlar durability.

edit: btw- Booger wipes and cords are excellent suggestions.

I am not sure I understand what you are saying about the foam? where is it and how does it increase your dexterity over a regular glove?

I agree, I have been shopping as well and the ice climbing gloves are nice, but not $150 nice. They are overpriced, plain and simple.

Don't make removable liners, make a seperate glove that functions well as a liner with the other glove. I think fleece liners suck and don't keep hands all that warm. I suggest like a holofil, or other type of puffy material that insulates well, but is not too bulky.

Make the index, ring, and pinky fingers a different color than the rest of the glove so it looks like you're always flipping the bird.

I won't buy gloves w/o a gauntlet and some cord to seal it down over my wrist. I do think Gore Tex is the best water proof breathable and haven't owned anything w/o it in a long time. Pricey, but good.

I like the dexterity leather palms provide.
Snot thing a good idea. For insulation I agree with Bossas and don't think too much of fleece. I prefer Primaloft/hollofil or equivalents.

My favorite pair of gloves for cold, snowy conditions that are pretty burly is the Marmot Ultimate glove. Way expensive but they good. They have all the above features I have already discussed which is why I like them. Fingers have Never been cold which is a first.

I don't know if it's just me but I snot so much on the chair lifts and just in general by the end of the night I have a frozen finger. Not to be gross but to the extent of where I wipe with ice not glove. But good idea.

Gore tex - meh. I am in the midwest so warmth matters more then waterproofing.

Gauntlet style for sure I can't have anything else otherwise I get a little cold spot on my wrist that drives me up a wall.

Maybe one of those little rubber things on the finger to wipe your googles with? Only a little bigger so it would actually work? Anyone have experance with these?

I treid my freind 130 pair of gloves with the removable liners. I hated them they bunched and moved around like hell. Drove me nuts.

One idea maybe a little built in heater that you could plug into the wall to dry your gloves faster.

Gore-tex lined leather would be a dream. Dream! Not that it has anything to do with what whatever this glove is. Make it like a sort glove with like a foreskin of nylon that comes up like a snowboard glove that is removable. I have hot hands so I have a spring set and a winter set. (And winter doesn't match so don't give me that has two sets of gloves rich suberben rich kid bullshit) But if you had a vent right above the knuckle with a water-proof zipper I would spend...alot more. I agree 101% about the cords. I like the idea of a pouch/pass holder/stash also.

Rubber pyrex squigy thingy on the glove for wiping ice and crap off your goggles. I have a pair of Bonfire gloves with this, nice feature. Any questions i can post a pic.

I am a mitten guy if the temp is below 25. Have not found gloves warm enough.

Dexterity is not too important when skiing for me. Why do i need individual fingers when all i'm doing is holding a pole?

my dad had mits that had a glove type liner, thinish fleecelike material. The mit was bigger than usual, so the hand fit inside the liner in the mitten, great for people who don't like the feeling of having the fingers together in the mitten and really warm too. The liner stays in the mitten all the time with a little bit of velcro a the cuff, unless it needs to be washed (we all know how nasty gloves/mits get), or dried, as gloves/mits get very wet on the inside. It also gives options for warmth. (liner + mit, just mit, just liner.)

I dunno if this is typical, but it was a great design, and i thought i should get it out there. I haven't found mits like this, and would def buy if you made one.

Oh, and full leather palms are nice.
