I'm not trained in music theory but I'm better than most at name that tune, and I'm not picking it up. If they really had the same producer that might account for some similarities but I'd lean more inspiration vs rip off. My opinion may be influenced by the actual guitarist in the track you posted in the comments saying he thought it was coincidence.

So, I have this song in my collection and have had it play on shuffle many times. I know it fairly well, but never really tried to make out the words. Well, last night, it was the ending song of S1E4 of The Great, and I had subtitles on, and finally know the lyrics. Hilarious!
