I've heard good things about Hoodoo. Looks like some cool areas to tour nearby, too, if the snow level is low.
The only time I was on Santiam Pass I lost control of my Subaru and mashed in a corner. That old Subie got beaten all over the place.

I have some friends here who have pointed out some spots that look great to tour. The valley snow can be wet though. Yeah Santiam is a gnarly pass , we lost it down at the base where it's flat coming into sisters and the trees ate us and spit us out
You need to just forget about Hoodoo, and hit up Willamette Pass. Hoodoo doesnt even compare, no cliff drops, no high speed six pack, low elevation, no RTS, SDN, Dragons Back. Also if you think santiam is a "gnarly" pass you need to learn how to drive bro brah.I mean the only threat is the gapers from p-town on the weekends
, everything else is buttuah.
just another ''big'' handle
black ice, a 4 door diesel truck with 6 fire fighters in it and one very experienced driver behind the wheel, we still got in a shit storm didn't seem like there was much we could do about it.
I live in bend and scored a free ticket to Hoodoo so I thought I should give it a shot. Haven't made the drive to Willamette pass I have a pass to Bachelor and ski there most of the time.
