Blows my mind that those M coupes still go for so much money. Never had the pleasure of driving one, but considering they're so goofy looking, I can only imagine their reputation for being ridiculously fun to drive is absolutely true.

I like the look of M coupes actually.

Not really sure why, it defies all logic.

Super fun car, very much LOVE it or HATE it styling. The last car the engineers at BMW got to make...
Just about the most fun you can have with two seats, utility, and under $100k. And not easy to drive at the limit, just the way I like it.

If you ever want one, this is the place to look. Act fast, prices have been going crazy on them! I got mine 3 years ago (S54 motor), put 30k on it and it is now worth ~$5-10k more than I got it for. Fewer than 680 made with the big motor.

And a little non-BMW lovin. Ken HAD to bring his GTO to go next to his 959, because his F40 was getting worked on...

Hmm, same size as my car, ~100 pounds heavier with an extra 115 hp. Sounds like a whole bunch of affordable fun.

It says orders can be placed starting on 1/13/15 but doesn't list a number or who to contact?

    What are we to do?

Wow, Kia's really getting with the program on this one! If it drives anywhere close to the Toyobaru BR-Z/FR-S, but with all that power, they'll have a serious winner on their hands!

What the shit? Volvo is the new AMC Eagle?

Volvo introduces the s60 Cross Country, an elevated awd sedan - they plan to bring this concept across the line in the future

Who knows, maybe this or it's wagon counterpart down the line will replace the Eurospec RS6Avantturbodieselstickshiftwithrocketbox as the official TGR wall-poster car?

Coming from someone who doesn't usually like Volvos, I actually don't mind that.^

Scroll down so you look at it from the headlights up, the body lines look like they came off a Porsche Cayenne or Beamer X(something)

New NSX debut (again) at Detroit this week.

But the new Ford GT stole the show.

Seriously, wasn't it like 3 Super Bowls ago they had the new NSX ad with Seinfeld and Leno?

Yeah I know a friend saw one, probably without any insides, at a dealership or some event. Three years ago. Sounds like there were some extensive redesigns, but the gt took the spotlight.

Yeah, it obviously shouldn't have tried to overtake the geezer in the Buick in that pic. Them Magoo drivers will put you into the rail every time.

    Ferrari's new F80 concept car.

Love it or hate it? For me it's a little of both - 70% love, 15% hate, 15% undecided.

Damn, I guess huge rear air venting for the engine, at the cost of what looks like a smaller cabin is the new deal. Both cars look pretty damn nice to this jong.
Never in U.S. history has the public chosen leadership this malevolent. The moral clarity of their decision is crystalline, particularly knowing how Trump will regard his slim margin as a “mandate” to do his worst. We’ve learned something about America that we didn’t know, or perhaps didn’t believe, and it’ll forever color our individual judgments of who and what we are.

New Tesla P85D all-wheel drive, dual motor version

    691 HP
    687 lb/ft of torque
    0 - 60 mph = 3.2 seconds

And you get this fantastic new upgrade for a relatively minor $14,000 premium over the rear-drive S P85, resulting in approx $120,000 total for what is performance in the realm of exotic supercars costing hundreds of thousands (and even millions) more.

Oh and they're also throwing in the rather incredible "Autopilot" auto-driving and auto-parking system. See the vid for that.

Motor Trend's write-up of the new Tesla:

Check this out...at 02:02, this fucker is steering itself!!
After about 100 years of fairly generalized automotive platforms (brake pedals, gas pedals and steering wheels) I think we're FINALLY getting somewhere. Jetsons, here we come!!!!

Nope. 100k GT-R beats the 0-60 by almost half a second. Same with a Hellcat. Same with a Z06. Etc.

Cars that drive themselves.... That's just depressing.

I said "in the REALM of".

Look....we are talking about a fully ELECTRIC car here. At this stage of EV development, an electric vehicle that is putting out numbers along side muscle cars and super cars is fairly incredible.

And the platform is a four-door sedan. If Tesla wanted to focus on pure performance, they can shed probably 1800 lbs (or more) off the 4400 lb four door and make it a light carbon-bodied, titanium framed vehicle and reconfigure their electric motors for pure power and end up with a hyper-expensive car that is batshit crazy fast...but that is NOT the damn aim of Tesla.

Their aim is to bring performance and class to the alternative auto market. And they have certainly done that.

Sure, one can argue that since more than likely the energy used in recharging the batteries comes from coal, diesel and natural gas, it is not totally eco-friendly, not to mention the lithium in their batteries...but it IS a start...a start we very much need in this world.

Battery compounds that aren't environmentally sensitive to produce is presently a problem, as is not presently having a alternative solar/wind/fusion/tidal/ based energy grid. And the range has to be addressed by a system of battery exchange depots, making recycling of the end-of-life batteries problematic if/when electric cars become more numerous. But ALL of these problems are addressable IF and ONLY if alternative energy becomes part of our national dialogue.

Any movement has to start somewhere....and Tesla is right at the front of the line.

You cannot deny the possibilities of a direct drive powerful electric motor driving a vehicle. There are NO shift point lags, because there is no transmission. The aggregate power losses are much less in this vehicle than your standard internal combustion, viscous-drive cars....WAYYY more efficient!!

The Hellcat and Skyline are epitaphs to the age of oil. The Tesla is a haiku to the future.

I'm with the futurists on this one at least.

The futurists are probably quite correct when they suggest that we won't actually be driving ourselves anymore in about 20 years or so.
