So just to make you all jealous... I got to drive this car this morning. I took my porsche 944 turbo down to an impromptu meet in the valley, and sure enough talking to the dude with this car, he eventually asked what I had brought down, and i pointed to my car, and he said, oh wow, I was thinking of getting one of those, lets go look at it. Ok, so we go look at it, he is impressed, so I figure it is time to set the trap.
Me, "want to take it for a spin?"
Him, "oh yeah? I don't know"
Me, "yeah sure, go for it," pull my keys out and hand them to him, "Let's swap cars and go run down the freeway"
Him, "OK," and he pulls out a ferrari key chain and hands it to me.
I couldn't believe this was happening to me. I have driven a lot of cool cars, but never a ferrari, and I used to have a poster of the Testarossa on the wall. Anybody else? haha, so he shows me the ins and outs of the car, and I start it up, couple test starts in the parking lot, easy enough, lets go.
We hopped on I-15 and ran down to bangerter gettin on it every so often, and it was cool as hell, we got to bangerter, and had a clear path to loop around back to the on ramp going north, so I was following him and he punched it in my 944, and I stomped on the gas in the ferrari, and he disappeared around the corner, and the flat 12 started wailing up towards 6k rpms, and it was glorious sounding! Ran it up to somewhere in the neighborhood of 100 or 110, not sure cause the speedo in the TR was non functional. And surprisingly my 944 turbo was pulling away. But that didn't matter, I was driving the car childhood dreams are made of and it was awesome! Check it out...

Very cool. It's surprising the market hasn't priced nice, low mileage Testarossas through the roof. That'll change soon enough.

Awesome story... The TR is an icon for sure, but I'd take your 944 to own 10/10.

I found out tonight that the wheel bumps on the front end of the BRZ are pretty damn sexy when you're looking over them from behind the wheel. Oh yeah, FKNA nice car That thing knows what it means to corner.

NBCHD had a couple of shows on tonight that seem to be part of a series... They bad The Road to Mercedes and The Road to Ferrari. The presenters were ok. Nothing groundbreaking, but not annoying and obviously really into cars. But the stops they made, carn porn and other subject matter were all awesome. Worth the watch. Hoping to find a Road to Porsche episode.

I think there's something wrong with me Leading into winter I'm seriously considering getting a sports car. That spin in the BRZ last night really resonated with me. It looks great (that's part of what this thread is about right,) it has a super sexy hump over the front wheels, it handles like it's on rails, it's RWD, has more than sufficient giddyup to be a bundle of fun and it has a back seat And that steering ... Wow!

I need something to counter it to keep the wife happy though, anybody know of a killer deal on a ten or so year old Ranger Supercab 4x4?

Mods so far,Fabspeed secondary cat delete/bypass, resonatator removal, Fabspeed X-pipe installed. Still have stock mufflers. I am probably going to put Tubi's or Larini or Fabspeed cans on some time this winter. 15mm front and 25mm rear staggared spacers coming along with some new Goodyear eagle f1 supercar tires in 285/r35-18. should look sweet.

Nice! Congrats on the new ride.

These posts make the 911 in the back of my head louder... But not nearly as loud as my wife will be if I come home with one before the floors and upstairs remodel are done!

Porn. Beauty to dream about with unique abilities. This SLS rolled through the shop last week. Always liked the concept of the gull wing doors.

I saw one of those things this spring...same color. Actually, I heard it before I saw it. They have a rather distinct and throaty note to their exhaust, as far as Mercedes go, anyway.

I think they have fairly captured the sprit and intention of the original '55 300 SL coupe with this specimen. Kudos to the design team at Mercedes Benz for this.

Up until the last week or so I see at least one of those a week. I'm constantly amazed at the cars running around the NY Metro area. There's a three wheeled Morgan I see a few times a month downtown, a 56 Porsche Spyder I've seen a bunch of times and a whole slew of crazy cool cars you just wouldn't expect to see in such a hazardous environment with such "wonderful" pavement.

Super sexy bimmer. It's full carbon fiber. I wonder how many skis splat could have made with that kinda of material on hand. Plus it goes 0-60 in 3.9 and can get 75mpg on full electric or almost 45 mpg with help from the gasser Click image for larger version.
